You are doing what 99.9% of people watching would love to do. Your getting out there and doing it which most of us could only dream of. If you were only doing one aspect of your build and telling us how to do it then yes maybe we should say your doing it wrong. But your not, you are doing everything yourself and doing bloody good job. Keep it up and hurry up can't wait to see it done

Nice work. Always a great feeling when you accomplish a big job like that. Anyway, hope you weren't referring to me about the welds. I suggested some braces to support the upright at the front because I think the welds might crack from the heavy loads of logs swinging back and forth over time. I have seen factory welds crack from metal fatigue. Kinda like bending a spoon back and forth until it breaks. Sorry if you meant me.

Love it. Can I add to “slightly competent” the confidence to try, fail and learn and try again. The belief that specialization provides security and barriers to competition is bull. I will take a generalist that can think through problems and execute a plan over a specialist any day. Remember that collegiate degrees for about a millennia were general arts degrees. Drucker and the belief that a specialized degree is a product of the mid 20th century.
