I have spent the last week cutting and moving this massive log in to position. it will be the main roof support for the reciprocal roof. it will sit there like that now for a week or so untill after christmas and then i will get it fixed in to place and the bark stripped.

I haven't cut down that many trees but hopefully soon will be getting a big piece of land and will be having to learn this stuff too. I've already been on the land a few times and there are some huge oak trees that have fallen at some point within the last year or so and some standing dead ones, so will have to deal with those. You just never know, so dangerous. How do you take down a 3.5 - 4 foot wide standing dead maple? tree anyways.

Not sure whether anyone else mentioned it yet; Here's a suggestion for how you can pull those kind of trees much easier next time. Rather than dragging the entire tree, which generates A LOT of friction, have a look what they do in forestries. They usually pick one end of the tree up, off the ground, and only the tail end drags around. This means that its a lot let friction, and you have more directional control where the tree is heading. Next time I would turn the tractor around and pick the tree up at one end with your bucket, and then you'll have a much easier job of it. Good luck with the project. Its coming along nicely :)

you cant lift 300+ Kg and then drive backwards with all the weight on the small front tires, they sink in the mud and the rear tyres that do most of the work have no weight on them becasue of the load on the front, and because they are now on the uphill. on top of that because they have sunk you now have to get them to lift the entire mass of the tractor and log out of the hole they have made. it does not work well at all doing it that way. on top of that as you move backwards the firction from the log pull even more of the weight from the back and gives even less traction. on a flat hard surface it would work better for sure, and on a flat hard surface i would do it the other way, but in wet mud i can assure you that way does not work at all with a machine this size. Thats why forestry equipment drags stuff. this is a small tractor and only has small front tyres and i live in wales and its winter.

Hi I would like to offer some suggestions 're your elbow. First I know how hard it is to properly rest an injured body part especially when you have pressing projects that you are gearing to complete as soon as you possibly can but dude please try and rest it as much as you can. Maybe try supporting the area with a tubigrip support (you can get one in Boots). Secondly have you thought about adding turmeric tea to your diet but not in a one cup a day sort of thing more like 5 or more cups a day at least initially, the anti inflammatory properties may just be the support your body needs to help it heal itself. If you add some coconut oil to it, that will help the body absorb it too. Thirdly CBD oil may also help with pain control, my daughter had a dodgy knee which responds really well to CBD oil in a balm form, which she applies topically. I hope this helps and I look forward to seeing more of your videos.

Well im afraid you are both missing something here That is quite important... the roll bar does not fit under the workshop entrance. with it up i could easily forget about it and hurt myself very badly by knocking over the very heavy workshop door frame. and in my opinion that is more of a risk doing this job than rolling the tractor, as working along thinking of lots of things it would be very easy to forget that is is to high and will knock overt the massive door frame on to my neck. however not rolling the tractor is very easy to remember and be mindful off as it is natural be be aware of it. all you need to do is watch this short clip to understand my reasoning www.thesun.co.uk/video/news/cctv-of-moment-builder-clips-support-beam-with-his-mini-digger-sending-it-crashing-down-on-top-of-him/ I have worked in construction for a multi national company in London for 6 years and attended every health and safety course there was. a have a folder about an inch think of qualifications. some of witch have now expired but the fact is i do know what im talking about.
