AARSHIN KARANDE, senior disciple of Mewati Gharana luminary SANDEEP RANADE "NAADRANG," offers a rendition of Raga Puriya Dhanashri on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami (September 6th, 2023).
This bandish, adulating the names of Lord Krishna, was written and composed by Pandit Jasraj-ji.
Rāga Puriya Dhanashri - a compound of raga-angas Puriya, Shree, and Dhanashri - brings out the intense devotional mood of this bandish.
This bandish are presented humbly as an offering to the consciousness symbolized by Lord Krishna.
LYRICS:
श्याम मुरारी बनवारी गिरिधारी ।
मदन मोहन हूँ शरण त्रिपुरारी ।१।
ग्वाल गोपाल लाल नंद जुके ।
राधा रमण कुंज बिहारी ।२।
TRANSLATION:
The speaker lists the beloved names of Lord Krishna - the dark-complexioned, bansuri-playing son of Shri Nanda and beloved of Shri Radha.
