The audience haven't travelled enough. Some countries have 'wet' heat - i.e. humid and sweaty - and others have 'dry' heat - i.e. more tolerable. The joke is that it may be hell but at least it's dry heat. It's actually very funny if you know what he's talking about.

K has not the knack for telling jokes he’s just adorable when he does - like a child discovering something that makes him giddy. The joke is along the line of the well-known quip, “It’s not the heat, it’s the humidity”, as when you go to a tropical place where the heat is smothering you due to the humidity. Someone asked.

Haha adorable. The joke is that someone is being so nuanced and particular about ‘hell’! For example if you had a broken leg and said ‘oh it’s a clean break’ Or if you were in Siberia and said ‘ ah nice crisp weather’ It’s an acquired taste this joke. His good natured innocent guffawing shines through like a gurgling sparkling spring. Adorable he is!

The way I interpret the joke is that these two fellows are missing the point: they’re in hell, but like most people in a bad situation they try to make the best of it by saying something that lessens the burden of what they’re dealing with-“ at least it’s a dry heat” It’s not a very funny joke, but it’s a clever one.

I love humor that falls flat-norm mcdonald and tim and eric come to mind. I felt a kinship with these comedians because they pointed out absurdities in society at a completely unconditional level. Coming back to K’s work now in my early 30’s, I remember that K was a human. He felt the whole range of what it means to be human. It makes putting into action what I discover for myself less of an ideal and more of a reality.

Agreed with Mr. J. Krisnamurti..🙏..Just as he had talked in great length in video of "Freedom from the Known"..Time is also the Known and was setting up for the purpose of coordinations & organization; therefore, by attaching to times and lecturing on "letting go" is a 🤣..If Mr. J. Krisnamurti still alive and hearing all the self-proclaimed gurus, he probably would have a good 😂- No jokes needed..By the ways, Mr. J. Krisnamurti's jokes are very funny but hard to grasps by many..😁😉..

It’s something we often say in the UK where the high heat of summer is often accompanied by unbearable humidity. Then we go on to talk about our holidays in the Mediterranean where the temperatures are higher but the humidity is far less and much more comfortable. We say it is hotter but at least it is a dry heat.

"In Arizona, Texas and other parts of the west, the temperature often averages over 100 degrees during the summer. “But it’s a dry heat!” is the clichéd response that some natives give, explaining that it’s more tolerable without humidity. “The thermometer frequently registers 120 in the shade, but it’s a dry heat, and one doesn’t notice it at all” was cited in print in 1910 to jokingly describe the heat in Southern California. It's an old joke, not just about hell, but hot places in general. People who live there always make that joke, because, as bad as it is, as hot as it is, it would be much worse if it were humid. So it's sort of a way of finding the silver lining in a really dark cloud.

“The thermometer frequently registers 120 in the shade, but it’s a dry heat, and one doesn’t notice it at all” was cited in print in 1910 to jokingly describe the heat in Southern California. The beauty of K’s jokes is that he provides an insight into your self - “it’s dry heat” - as compared to WHAT??? Observe where you are without comparing it to your past (or another experience)

What is the meaning of your first paragraph? Can you explain in detail.
@Levus_S
@Levus_S 26 күн бұрын
@@Gaurav.P0 I think it's because "wet heat," humid, is very uncomfortable because one can't sweat properly, and so one gets much hotter. Whereas "dry heat" is more bearable, more comfortable.
