With pleasure comes fear | J. Krishnamurti
Extract from Public Talk 2, Brockwood Park, UK, 1976
---
This channel is managed by the Krishnamurti Foundation Trust, UK, and by the Krishnamurti Foundation of America.
The role of the foundations was described by Krishnamurti when he said, 'The foundations will see to it that these teachings are kept whole, are not distorted, are not made corrupt. They will not give rise to any sectarian spirit in their activities... nor create any kind of place of worship around the teachings or the person.'
We maintain extensive archives of Krishnamurti's original works and all four Krishnamurti foundations are actively engaged in the publication of material in various forms.
Our videos contain thousands of subtitles in more than 25 languages, translated by volunteers from all over the world. If you would like to help us with translating subtitles, please contact us at digital@kfoundation.org

In other words, Fear comes from the thought of not getting the pleasure you want or losing the pleasure that you have. So, it is the fear of not having which connects pleasure and fear.

In real aloneness thought can see how mechanical, repetitive and limited it its, how actually intolerable and painfull emprisonment one is in, but its this actually enough or one is so heavily conditioned that it continues seeking pleasure while living its particular form of torture?

I think I have to stop listening jk. He has pointed enormous significant thing for me. But knowledge interferes in examining the things. I found for attending one needs great sense of honesty & humility. I ve always escaped form myself & built many images, they are still here with me but now I am not suppressing them & staying with them & seeing how ridiculous they are. This channel is the best thing I have ever found on any social media platforms. Thank you so much sirs & madams, who are behind this. Thank you JK. no matter what will happen to me, whether I will be lost in despair or failed in my life but I will try to get out of this trap which is me. Thank you JIDDU KRISHNAMURTI 🙏🙏

He's fooling us and he knows it, thats why he repeats "I wonder if you can follow me" and laughs. He thinks it's funny, because it really is. You think that you're getting somewhere by listening to K, but that only means that you're not "looking at the whole map". What he really is implying all the time is that you already are where you want to be. You just dont want it to be true. Therefore he can fool you over and over again, as long as you fall for it. As long as you insist that theres something more than the place where you already are and that his teachings can bring you there he can fool you.

Observing without identifying is all that is taking place, anything else that arises from this is nonsense, simply noise that detracts one from its true purpose. The conditioned logical mind will never understand his pointing's. Jiddu is pure being.

There is an experience recorded, which becomes knowledge. From that knowledge thought arises and action takes place. Experience, memory and knowledge are limited; therefore, thought is limited. Time is the past modifying itself in the present and becoming the future. The observer is the observed. The observed ends when observation without abstraction is.

Pleasure and Fear are transformations that has created dualities. Water must have Wave or else it is not Water, there is a rise and fall and that is because of the external forces and mind is a confine there is both pleasure and sorrow, where fear is instilled in all causing all to face a dual entity to relay ie GOD

I am aware that there are people who seek pleasures out of fear.. Morbid curiosity and morbid pleasure stems out of our deepest and darkest corners of our psyche.. In our depths, we embody "darkness" and "evil" and subconsciously have cravings of dark and morbid pleasures..

i think people who dont know the context of the title or even the video or parts of the whole.video might misunderstand this. as he says seeking pleasure for.instance when flavouring food is not a problem but a natural component of.humans look for.joy. whatever you want to call this flavouring the mouthwatering sensation. but rather the search of pleasure Where is non creates the.problem

Thanks to KFA for selecting and and posting this extract. What struck me was his saying, “this requires tremendous attention.” What I see in my mind is attention wandering, continually moving away from something. Then when one tries to force the mind to attend, there is conflict. So is the question, can the mind have “tremendous attention” without effort, to pay attention effortlessly?

To see something totally is not to have direction. Direction means motive. Seeing without registration. When there is whole seeing, then you can describe better. The whole seeing will happen when you don't have any motive. If you have a motive then you won't see wholly.

Sir, with due respect, i dont understand seeing things in totality and also not to register thoughts while observing things. Anyone, please explain
@thamidh8991
@thamidh8991 4 жыл бұрын
The example he provided is, when your looking at a map with an intention of going to a certain destination, you only look at the route that is needed ignoring the rest of the map. When you have a motive or a desire to go somewhere you do not see things in their totality. Seeking pleasure means you have a direction, and it is not just seeking pleasure it is anything you want right now, you want to do it because you feel it will bring you fulfillment or pleasure. Someone might think things will be good if they get a promotion, other person thinks if they get married everything will be good. These thoughts and desires are different from person to person but it always causes a movement of thought which leads to more desire which also leads to fear and suffering like a cycle it is endless. If you really see the mechanical, cyclical nature of this you will naturally begin to pay immense attention to everything, this slowly cultivates awareness that lets you see things simply the way they are. This way of seeing or observing gives you freedom from the cyclical nature of desire.
@rlgraves
@rlgraves 4 жыл бұрын
RICHARD LENZO I think you do, but does it require, as he says, “tremendous attention”? As I say in my comment above, do we usually have that kind of attention? And when we force the mind to have it, is there conflict unless we can attend without any effort? No direction, no desire, no goal, no thought, no effort? That’s a challenge, right?

Do like he said: watch a beautiful sunset, then watch this video again, then look at another sunset. Do it 'till you get his words. You'll not regret it. I could just say that it happen in that moment when your mind is still, but it's not quite like that, for there is movement when you try to close a door that the wind wants to open.
