Kristaps Porzingis changes everything for the Celtics... Kristaps Porzingis has been the biggest Boston Celtics news before the Jrue Holiday Celtics trade happened. Along side Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum, Kristaps Porzingis changes everything for the Celtics. Jrue Holiday was the latest addition and talked about, but Kristaps Porzingis makes the biggest change that can bring the Celtics back to the NBA Finals. i mean porzingis in dallas had me shaking my head because luka was dribbling so much and only passing the ball to porzingis in the last second. u gotta understand porzingis playstyle he thrives on teams that have good ball movement where the offense runs thru him. dallas is just luka dribbling 90% of the time and everyone just kinda stand around hoping to get that pass

KP's scoring numbers from last year are not at all inflated. Even if he was on a bad team, he was playing alongside two other capable scorers in Beal and Kuzma who both averaged over 20 a game. KP's a legit scorer. An ideal 3rd option who can easily get you 20 points per game and more if needed.

In fact KP averaged more PPG than those two while taking less shots. He is efficient.

The crazy thing is that Porzingis doesn't even need superstar numbers to help Boston win. He need to stand there and be a threat on the perimeter and that automatically opens things a lot for Tatum and Brown. There's a reason Tatum is being a lot more aggressive this year in the paint...he's getting more one-on-one matchups without an opposing big clogging his lane (plus he clearly hit the gym). With his new muscle and less defensive presence in the paint, Tatum can bully his way in there while defenders have to consider the 7ft firebreather before they come into the paint to help defend.

I was a young kid growing up and had the ABSOLUTE PRIVILEGE to witness the GREAT Larry Bird-era Celtics. And as great as those teams were, with the exception of that all-time great '86 Celtics team, I think the starting 5 of this Celtics team might be better than any other Celtics team. Think about it, Tatum and Brown are already in the Top-15 players (with Tatum looking to be an even stronger MVP candidate this year), then add in a HUGE matchup nightmare in the sweet-shooting Porzingis as an alternative option to score. And somehow the Celtics' team D got much better with the addition of Porzingis, Holiday and having White as a starter just makes this Celtics team frighteningly good. Barring an injury attack on this Cs team, I don't see any other team stopping the Green on their way to title #18. This Cs team can be THAT good.

Well... The same was said about last seasons Celtics after they added Brogdon for basically nothing. Lets see how they will do against the Bucks (after they built their chemistry) to get out of the East, or the Nuggets (for me an even better Starting 5) in a possible finals Matchup.

The team IQ seems to have gone up a notch with Porzingis and Holliday on the floor. Like I said to my dad a couple of games into the 08 season watching Garnett. Porzingis is better than I thought and so is Holliday.

Sorry, but I have to say- this is just a re-telling of wikipedia, plus repeating hot-first-takes that were made by people who did not watch Mavs games- any time KP got 20+ by half-time or had more than Doncic, Luka 'forgot' to run any offence trough of for him. Just go space right corner and crash for the rebound!

I like Porzy and think he's just what the C's needed, if he stays healthy. Rebounding is HUGE!! He's right in his prime. I like Al Horford, but it's time to bring in a younger player to learn the ropes. It may turn out the coach was the reason for not winning. Nothing can hurt a good team like a bad coach.

As a celtics fan i hope hes worth everything we have up to get him, if we make the finals and possibly win with him healthy that would be even better. I do like the fact he provides more shooting options and spaces the floor. Mu only concern outside of his health would be out lack of quality depth at the center postion.

Tbh as insurance I want the Celtics to get a Kelly Olynyk or get mike muscala back tbh I think we was decent on short span he was there, unless like kornet remembers he can shoot this is the only thing the Celtics needs. The prob I have with what brad did this summer was get rid of too many role players, like Peyton is too raw, hauser is still too inconsistent, Luke forgot how to shoot so what’s the big deal brad

I love KP but to say they're not losing "anything" on defense going from Timelord to KP is absolutely insane. TimeLord is twice the defender KP is. There's pros and cons to the trade and being able to play 5 out is a pro but that's silly to say they're anywhere close to the same player on defense let alone identical.
