I would say it depends on how long the Hornets stay a fringe play in team. If in 2 years they start competing in the conference, Melo will be more inclined to stay. Especially with how narratives are built every generation, most players want to win. If the organisation takes some risks and tries to develop, they had the no6 pick in this draft who is a 6’10 wing they could develop into a good core. They have a few years to decide whether to bet on this core or not. They have the GOAT in the front office but he’s also the GOAT of having the worst run organisation so it’s a toss up😂

Miami should really go into a rebuild or semi rebuild because their roster isn’t good enough to compete in the East but they do got some young talent on the roster it makes sense for them to bottom out and get a top 10 pick especially in these next two draft classes coming up. But Pat Riley isn’t going to do that which means the Heat unless Hierro can be consistent or Bam takes a jump and be like a number one option. I kind of get what you are saying about Miller being the face of the Hornets team, but you don’t need to trade LaMelo to build around Miller. What would you want in a point guard? An elite passer who can keep a dribble alive and space the floor? That would be LaMelo. Sure his defense isn’t great, but I am not sure Charlotte can land anybody in free agency better especially with how restrictive salaries are nowadays. You aren’t trading LaMelo for a point guard better than LaMelo.

You know I just watched a replay of my favourite Boston vs Houston game from 1986 and I have to say folks that we are being robbed by today’s NBA. To see some of the greatest players of all time scrapping on the floor, going body to body under the basket with their eyes glued on the ball and hear the crowd cheering passes and interceptions just as much as baskets was a joy. There is no doubt that many of today’s players are more athletic and better individual ballers than players were back then but sadly they aren’t better basketball players.

The problem with the wolves was the lack of perimeter shot creation aside from ant. Also ant and jaden really need to be better at navigating screens at the top of the key. They were literal non factors when involved in the pnr against dallas that rudy was back to playing 2v1 like he was forced to in utah. It always looks worse for him since he's the last line of defense. Also france's guard play is horrendous and you should know this if you actually watched the games. The problem with france was that no one could effectively use gobert's screen actions and take advantage of mismatches.
