I know that the directors have messed with fans and their theories for their own amusement at times, not unlike how _Frozen_ played to audience expectations only to subvert them time and again. Chris Buck pretty much started that Tarzan theory or at least threw fuel onto the fire with a few choice (and obviously teasing for the skeptical) words, while Jennifer Lee was the culprit who suggested that maybe Elsa and Anna's parents were going to a certain wedding in Corona. None of this was ever true, and _Frozen II_ proves that, but they probably had a good laugh. Buck more recently teased at D23 that the parents were back, but Lee then admitted that it was only in flashbacks. Don't believe everything these two say, and maybe Kristen Bell in this case, too. It's actually pretty obvious when they're kidding, as they are normally earnest people and not great liars, but those who are *dying* to have certain theories confirmed tend to fall for their tricks hook, line, and sinker regardless, and these jokers think that's pretty funny. Next, one of them might suggest a connection between the Nøkk in _Frozen II_ and the Ocean in _Moana_ or something like that--don't fall for it!

spoiler alert! elsa and anna’s parents explain about an enchanted forest where two groups were against eachother and fought and their fathers child self almost died but their mothers child self saved him and ever since that happened nobody could come in or out of the forest when they were kids elsa heard noises so elsa anna kristoff olaf and sven go on to the forest and elsa gets them in by using her powers olaf explains the two sisters whole story to those same two groups elsa anna and olaf go to some place and kristoff proposes to one of the tribe leaders but she sadly rejects and kristoff finds out anna left so he sung a very dramatic song and elsa makes anna go back elsa finds the ship her parents were on but in a comepletely different area than where they said they were going so she finds out that they were going to try to figure out elsas powers and she felt guilty of her parents death so she tries to get across a sea but fails like 3 times then a water horse appears, they fought for a while, and takes her to the other side and goes back into the water afterwards then elsa sees flashbacks and cringes at herself singing let it go and realized her grandfather was bad and then finds out the voice was her mother and finds out that she was the 5th spirit (the others are earth(earth giants) water(the nokk) wind(gale) and fire(bruni))and she also becomes frozen even though the cold never bothered her anyway meanwhile anna and olaf are in a cave and since elsa froze olaf reduced to atoms anna was depressed for a while but led the earth giants to a bridge which if it was knocked down it would flood arendelle but she had to so she led them to the bridge and they tore it down also kristoff comes to help and instead of saying i’m here to protect you he said i’m here what do you need cause he’s good boy and his love isn’t fragile meanwhile elsa unfreezes and olaf rebuilds himself elsa stops the water from flooding arendelle and saves the town or whatever and they all meet up together again and anna is crying in confusion but happiness so olaf’s like ok is the journey over now and elsas like yeah but then here comes kristoff he proposes to anna and anna’s like yeah sure so sven sobs uncontrollably for like an hour and elsas like aight ima head out and leaves to go live in the forest and anna becomes queen and shes kinky for a minute
