This is really beautiful !! I'm SAD she left Flyleaf. Kristen and Lacey were both great !! I had never heard of Kristen May & her band Vedera. So i'm truly thankful for her time in the band. Now i have a new favorite musician to listen and learn to : ) Hopefully in the future her and Flyleaf can bond better to make things workout for some new music. I gotta say i'm disappointed in the Flyleaf's fan-base. That disrespect was sooo uncalled for. Either way now i'm a fan of THREE bands thanks to this. Lovely Indeed, peace.

The only reason people are saying they hate Kristen is only because she replaced flyleaf/Lacey! If she was to make her own band you guys would love her! Think about it! She has an amazing voice! You guys have no right to be upset because it was Lacey's choice ok???? If Lacey wasn't OK with it im sure it wouldn't have happened. I'm sure even Lacey loves her! I feel like this type of music fits her voice so much better. In Flyleaf, she overpowers the music because her voice is just so big and powerful. It's nice to hear her in some music where her vocals get to take center stage.

+LassHaley Actually IMO the rest of the music is fine, it sounds similar to how flyleaf always has. The main problem is that her voice is vastly different from Lacey's and does not fit the rest of the band.

Big and powerful? Lacey's a powerhouse, a combination of mellow and hard, and can go from very tender vocals to full time screamo if needed. No disrespect to Kristen, but she sounded too...pop?

The Lacey vs Kristen has to stop. While I love Lacey's gritty, emotional vocals...I've also grown to love Kristen's melodies. As a longtime fan of Flyleaf, I'll always support the guys no matter who their lead vocalist is, but I've grown to like Kristen as their lead. Every musician deserves an artistic outlet/solo effort, and Kristen did a great job here.

I liked Kristen in Flyleaf. Although the lead singer does affect the way a band sounds but the singer isn't the whole band. Pat, Sameer, James, and Jared were still apart of the music when Lacey left and Kristen came. I find it amazing that Flyleaf has so much variety in all their music, from the old days (Passerby), to their trademark sound in their self-titled album, to their new sound in the album New Horizons, to the final but great stage with Kristen. I love that Flyleaf changed because it represents how life is; things will change and not always in the ways you wanted, but it was meant to be. 💚FLYLEAF💚 (P.S.- Thank you to whoever reads this whole comment. I love this album. Thanks for sharing. I'm sure Flyleaf is great (never heard of them, but going to check them out for sure after reading comments here), but this is Kristen's album. I think the poster put "Flyleaf) in parens as an identifier. But it's a SOLO album. If it's largely different than what she does with Flyleaf, all the better - shows her versatility!

Has the world gone stupid or just a few of the people in it! I'm really getting sick of people comparing Kristen to Lacey! I admit Lacey has given us many good times while she was with Flyleaf. Last time I checked Kristen is trying to fill really big shoes and she needs the same love and support the fans of Flyleaf that Lacey had and in many ways still have. She has beautiful voice and I don't except her to be another Lacey because that isn't fair to either one of them. I want to see or more so hear what new stuff Kristen can begin to Flyleaf. I hope she aim high and doesn't let all you haters begin her down. Lacey has told her story as part of Flyleaf and now it time for Kristen to tell her story as part Flyleaf. I am a long term Flyleaf fan and of course Lacey was perfect because she 'was' Flyleaf (Fully Alive was probably my personal early favourite). It is however grossly unfair to compare Kirsten to her. As far as 'big shoes to fill', you don't don't go into an Olympic event as a professional athlete attempting to wear a fellow athletes footwear. As far as 'New Horizons' was concerned, Lacey although I adored her should not have recorded the album only to dump it on Kristen to tour with. This was at best setting her up for a fall. As an aside I would be interested to hear Lacey attempt to copy of 'The Wedding' from 'Between the Stars' think this would be an interesting role reversal !

Wow. These replies are ridiculous. Yes, Lacey was amazing, but so is Kristen. If she wasn't, why would Lacey have chosen her as her replacement? Lacey WILLINGLY left because she had bigger responsibilities. Get over it. Yes, she is good, and so is Kristen. This is STILL Flyleaf. Same band other than the lead vocals. It's time to get over Lacey leaving and appreciate the effort Kristen puts in. Just because you have a preference of Lacey does not give you a right to bash Kristen. Flyleaf died when Lacey quit. Some bands' sound is too defined by their vocalist. Same as Queen - they can do tribute acts all they want, but without Freddie it's just not it.

That is a band opened for bands like Thrice, Under Oath when those bands were at their prime and heaviest. Kristen May belongs in Punk Bands.

I had high hopes for her, and have been very defensive about her, but she sounds the same in every song. She needs to learn that what makes a great album, is variety. Because, what's the point of even MAKING a whole album, if it feels like Deja Vu, when another song starts; like, if you've heard one song, you've heard them all?... I just came here from Lacey's album, and there are softer ballads, rock songs, hard rock songs, and even a song where there's no singing; just dialogue. Whereas, with Kristen's, if it wasn't for the pauses, I wouldn't know when one song stopped, and the other began.

This album plays it way too safe. Her songs with flyleaf really demonstrated all her voice can do...which is SO MUCH MORE than this offers. Seems she’s lacking confidence & flyleaf challenged her. I loved flyleaf from the start, but I loved her even more than Lacey & I love Lacey! Red Sam one of my all time favorite songs ever but now so is well of lies. It’s not that ones better than the other, they’re incomparable, they have 2 completely different sounds, it’s like comparing slayer to *NSYNC- you can like one better than the other, but it’s more about appreciating what they both bring than making a comparison that has no business being made. Here’s a thought for ya’s....what if BOTH of them rejoined the band & THEY BOTH. TOGETHER brought their talents to the band....I’d love to hear what that would sound like!! But if ms May is going her own way, I wish she’d continue to challenge herself, she’s selling herself & her fans short with this generic sound when her range is way beyond this with so much more to offer...this sound is an insult to her actual talent.

Flyleaf sold out by replacing her with someone who was pretending to be Lacey Sturm for money. It didn't work out because they weren't being 100% genuine. Kristen May isn't Lacey Sturm.
