So agree. The challenge is actually finding the simple, classic clothing. Everything for petites is elastic waist, cutsie and old lady.

Hi Jeanette- I'm sure that's frustrating! Have you tried thrift or consignment shops? Or buying a straight size and having it tailored? It might be worth investing in alterations so that you have a few simple classic pieces that fit you really well.

Wonderful video. I recently decided to redo my entire wardrobe and this is great advice. My simple is core colors (black, white, navy, gray, brown) with a splash of color that compliments by core colorsI lavender, pink and baby blue). I prefer the classic style with a splash of feminine if that makes sense.

Hi Kristen. Great topic. I am in the process of elimination, downsizing and de-cluttering. But my problem is that I am eclectic and lots of everything brings me joy, ha ha!! What I am now trying to implement is wearing my warm Spring colours and donating the blacks. I am a Theoretical Romantic and a Type 1 / 2. I am donating the clothing that does not fit those rules. Hopefully that strategy will simplify my wardrobe. Thanks for the great points.

Hello, Sherry, Thanks! As you edit your wardrobe, maybe keep only a few favorites in each 'style'. Eclectic is wonderful! It's fresh and inspiring when a woman can wear many styles well. To avoid overwhelm maybe get clear on which 3-5 vibes you love the most and create smaller capsule wardrobes to support each of those versions of you. xx

Hi Kirsten! Simple -- cozy -- classic; and I like your statement of deciding what simple means to me. Right now I think it's colors that coordinate and mostly knits. I have four blazers and although the colors "go with" I'm not sure I'm a blazer person. I think I'd rather wear cardigans as my outer pieces. I'm in a cold winter state so I should know by spring if I reach for a blazer. BTW I just purchased a new iron and ironing board cover!🤗🌿💜

I know what I would like to wear and what looks good on me. The problem is that I’m having a hard time finding these pieces, they don’t seem to be in style at the moment. I like simple pieces with good cuts (I love the blouse you wear in your video) but everytime I find something I like it’s never the right color for my skin tone. Simple pieces are often khaki, off-white, beige, warm unsaturated colors that look terrible on me. Or black which I used to wear almost exclusively when I was younger but now looks too harsh on me. Even pure white doesn’t suit me anymore. At 64 with my gray hair I need more saturated cool tones. The tops I find in these colors almost always have loud patterns, embellishment, sparkles , etc which don’t look good on me because I am petite. I used to love shopping but not so much now. Recently I went to the 2 big shopping centers in my area, entered in every clothing store, tried on a ton of clothes and couldn’t find one piece that I liked or that fit me properly. So I know how I would like to present myself to the world, as you say, but I just can’t seem to make it happen at the moment.

Hello, Lyne- That sounds super frustrating! I'm so sorry you're having difficulty finding simple pieces in the right colors. This top is from Old Navy, they do have it in several colors for fall. I also tend to find simple, classic pieces when thrifting. There are several brands that make more simple styles. I'd suggest a quick Google search of simple, classic women's clothes. Everyone and Quince come to mind. I hope you are able to find even a few simple pieces that you love to wear!
