I made this video with more relaxing vibes and less talking. So I already know there are a few things I need to address lol 1) why did you cleanse her 3 times? She had full face of makeup. I like to be extra sure it was completely removed. The additional cleansing was not stripping and each cleanser was very gentle and hydrating for the most part. Precleanse is oil based and the lactic cleanser was creamy. And thankfully I did because in the video you’ll see the cotton rounds with the toner still removed some left over. 2) Can you explain more about the peel application? I followed the protocol (for the most part lol) that dermalogica provided me. The TCA I placed all over, the Glycolic peel I “spot treated” on her forehead and smile lines and above her lip where aging was starting to form. The glycolic she said had the most sensation. And the lactic peel I “spot treated” on her cheeks where she had more discoloration. 3) how did you remove the peel? The protocol said to apply the neutralizing solution and then remove with damp sponges or towel. I would not use a hot towel! 4) can I do this peel on a walk-in client? No I would not recommend. Rosa has been a client of mine for months and has received multiple treatments.

Thank you for answering these questions. I can't fathom why any one would wear cosmetics to a facial. I always show up bare faced, not even sunscreen or serums, with a soft cloth head band on my hair. I always wash my face well directly before I go to a facial.

After peels, it's recommended to use physical sunscreens as chemical ones can give off heat. The protocol for this peel calls for application of either the invisible physical defense or skin perfect primer. Beyond that, your technique is amazing!
@Sovnarkom
@Sovnarkom Жыл бұрын
physical sunscreens also absorb UV then release it as heat … increasing skin temperature ~1 degree They do some deflection about absorption is also happening. There are some recent studies that explain it. Let me know if you need links.

This was so incredibly informative, and I especially loved getting to watch your hand techniques! I'm totally recommending the other esties as my spa give this a watch -especially as many of us (myself included) are newer to peels and lacking a little confidence to create such a dynamic peel combo as the one you preformed! Thanks for sharing!

@kristenmarieco

Great question! I think it kind of depends on your client’s skin. Rosa has pretty tough skin and didn’t feel any discomfort during the peel. and she told me she wanted that extra punch in the treatment lol so gauge how your client feels during the peel portion. You can definitely choose something more soothing!

Love your videos!! I always learn so much. So grateful I found you so early in my process into becoming an esthetician. I’m going to start beauty school after working in the medical field for 20 years. I’m very comfortable in gloves but have noticed when watching esti tutorials some wear them and some don’t. Is there a specific reason you wear them? I’m more comfortable in them since being in the medical field so I think I prefer it. Just curious what your thoughts are. Thanks, Kristen!

some treatments require gloves! I usually only wear mine during extractions, peels, enzymes, derma plane, micro needling and anything that can irritate the skin if not done hygienically, or can cause direct contact with blood (everything should be done hygienically regardless but you just don't want to do these kinds of things with your bare hands) during standard mild facials I just do everything without gloves besides the enzyme because your hand might start flaking haha a facial massage with gloves on wouldn't feel good for example I work in Europe tho so idk how it works over there in the US

I see Dermalogica is still doing the same tired treatments. Technology has greatly improved and they're still using some of the same formulas as they were 10-15 years ago. Look at the services offered in Japan and Korea - even Russia. The American market has a gaping hole!

Why are you starting with steam at the Precleanse? How is it supposed to bond with the oils to remove if you emulsify right away? It may be the reason you felt the need to tripplecleanse.

This was painful to watch if someone was rough like this on my face I would ask her to stop, we don't wear gloves unless there is a terrible condition such as acne because of bacteria, second of all the extractions you went so harsh, and third the mask was also applied on eyebrows that just to mention some of the mistakes the whole thing was hard to watch.

Why are you wearing gloves during cleansing? It ruins experience for the client. Plus how can you feel the skin as you are going and seeing If you're being effective by having gloves on the whole time, gloves should be used is extraction or medical treatment Not with any massage movements it's actually irritating to the skin

My only complaint is the fact that you’re wearing gloves most of the other channels that I watch the facial on don’t wear gloves so I don’t think that I would enjoy it that much when I can’t feel real hands touching my skin. So I opted out of watching the video because it really just turns me off I can see if you’re doing somebody’s nails it really turned me off to see you wearing gloves that to me is not enjoyable at all
