GUEST BEDROOM MAKEOVER | TRANSFORMATION FROM START TO FINISH

HAPPY SUNDAY!☺🏡 I had our first guests coming to stay with us in our new home and our guest bedroom needed a mini makeover before they arrived!! I love the refresh in here and can't wait to see how this space transforms next... I'm thinking of wallpapering the entire room next! Let me know your thoughts!!☺

My mother-in-law loved wallpaper. She and a decorator had it installed in many areas of her home. 25 years later, that wallpaper is ugly and dated. And the house will need to be sold when my father-in-law passes. I had wallpaper professionally installed in a main level bathroom. My teen daughter and I removed it years later. The hardest thing is to get glue off of textured walls. I can't remember what prep sealer we used, but it required 2 coats of prep sealer and two coats of paint. Eesh! By the time that was done, I was tired and cursing wallpaper. I'll likely never use it again.

I wanted to tell you why you are my role model. I was born at 25 weeks, my lungs needed oxygen and l also had retinopathy, if the doctor didn't realize that I had it, I would lose my eyesight but thank god they found it early and all I needed was laser, but I still can't carry heavy stuff. I had 30% chance of staying alive because I was so small and I had a lot of pipes and stuff. That's why I thank God everyday for keeping me alive. You are such an inspiration to me and I look up to you so much 🤎🍂🥹

Guests will never want to leave! I have the same wicker glasses. Mine were a gift about 40 years ago. They were my everyday glasses so eventually some of the wicker bottoms rotted out. But I was able to find replacements on Etsy. Thanks for mentioning what you did with the plexiglass that came out of the frame. I've taken out the plexiglass, too, but didn't know what to do with it. And I'm working on a new gallery wall and now know what to do with the glass.

It is a beautiful, welcoming room! Love what you did. When my daughters, now in their mid-20s, left the house permanently, I turned their bedrooms into a treadmill room and a sewing and machine embroidery room. Before, we had turned my oldest daughter's room into a loung-y, moody space that had a cool, modern vibe futon-type couch/bed. I kept the dark blue wall when it became my creative space. You're young and have a different perspective because of your age in life. I'm all about using every inch of my home for my spouse and me, yay! My daughters also made their own spaces for them. Lookong forward to all of your upcoming projects. I can feel my youth returning when I watch your creations.
