Hi Kristen. I really enjoy that makeover video of the bathroom and was just wondering..How are those tiles holding up? Do they hold up good with humid from the bathroom? How are they suppose to be cleaned? A not so wet mop? Have they shade on color or form? Sorry didn't mean for all the questions but I looking for alternatives to upgrade my bathroom for less. Thanks for sharing. God bless you. Stay safe.

I rent an apartment so these are great suggestions for me. Wondering tho, if you had the stick on items up for a couple years let's say, how do we know it's not gonna damage what's underneath? Or become a sticky gluey mess nearly impossible to get off. That's been my only worry about these. Thanks for all you share with us! So inspiring and motivating.

Thank you for this video, 99% of the “rental decorating hack” videos literally just say “paint your walls, ask if you can change the floors” yeah sorry hun, most rental spaces want 0% changes to their old style property. What’s good about this is not only are you covering the 70’s brown that’s in so many properties but it protects the surfaces so you leave the house in the exact same condition as when you arrived a+++

I put a few coats of clear liquid floor wax on mine.. It gives the floor a mirror shine & also protect that thin vinyl coating from scuff marks...It also seeps between the cracks also creating a barrier against water puddles... May I suggest you use a towel mat when you bathe, if you step in puddled water as you seem to be implying... You could eventually slip & fall..🤕 A towel mat is a very thick towel that is very absorbent... It’s short & is as flexible as a towel that fits snuggly on the side of the bath when not in use..By the time you get off, your feet are dry. Hope this will dissolve your worries! 😉

How does the contact paper on the counters hold up to cleaning? I’m thinking of doing it in my kitchen but I cook a lot and with multiple wipings a day I’m wondering how it would hold up.

Mellsy M I did a granite looking contact paper in the kitchen of an apartment I lived in a few years back, it lasted about a year and a half with me and my roommate. I was shocked how well it held up. There were a few little gashes on the edges of the counter, but still better looking then the blue laminate countertops underneath. I

I’ve been worried about those floor pops. From what I’ve read they are NOT renter friendly. I’ve read that over time the adhesive and sticks more and more over time. I’m curious to see how they are when it’s time to remove.
@victoriaarriero-stud42114 жыл бұрын
They are VERY difficult to remove. And the ones that do leave a sticky residue that's so hard to remove, as well.

Use WD40 to remove stickiness. I use it on lots of sticky things, that stuff is great! A bit stinky at first, but you can pull up the tiles, spray the WD40 and leave the room for awhile to let it do its thing.

Took professionals 4 days to remove mine and the sticky doesnt come off. Had new flooring put in top of the residue.

I’m wondering how well the wall paper works on textured walls? I have a wall I’d love to do in ship lap but it’s textured

I’m thinking about the same thing. I am wondering if using poster board taped over the wall and then using the contact paper on top of that it might work. Idk. What did you end up doing?
@ashtonsmith95023 жыл бұрын
@@laurabythatagari8944 I never ended up doing it but I did find some peel and stick shiplap today so that’s an awesome idea! Thank you for the suggestion!

Use caution with the floor tiles and sticky wallpaper. After two years I tried to remove these and the glue became like cement through out the floor, the wallpaper took big strips of paint off the wall. I didn't get my deposit back, and had to pay 1,200 to replace the floor.
@RAIRADIO3 жыл бұрын
Yes. they get harder and harder as years go by, though at the time of applying the glue is flexible. Only use on ceramic tiles and metal. nothing else.

Great video and some great ideas!! Has anyone ever had trouble removing the contact paper from the benchtops? Does it leave any sticky residue behind?

This is the problem that you show pictures from different places and stuff? Everybody's jumping down your shit for no particular reason. Unless they just want to be creeps. I appreciate your sewing stuff that I can get a different places. I understand that. The people need to get off of your butt.
