This was amazing! I watched it while knitting with spincycle dyed in the wool. It truly makes me understand and appreciate the price point.

Wonderful interview! I was in their Bellingham shop and bought some yarn this past year but have never met Kate and Rachel but will visit their mill someday as I live just across the border in Canada.

If I could only have one yarn for the rest of time, I would happily knit with Spincycle yarn for the rest of time.

I used to buy their yarn at the farmer's market. Their yarn was so gorgeous ! I always wondered what happened to them since those days. I'm so happy they're still here in Bellingham...and bought a mill!!!

One of your best videos. I so enjoyed meeting the Spincycle girls. I just purchased some of their yarn and now I’m even more inspired to use it. Thank you for this very interesting and inspiring interview.

How fun. I once lived on Camano Island. Nostalgia and there's now a mill 🙂.

Kristy knows so much geography, like a human atlas. She's never missed a beat on NY places, and now Rachel asked "Where's Traverse City?" (which I've never heard of), and Kristy said "Michigan?"

Oh my goodness, Kristy!!! That was so awesome!! You were totally an adopted Spincycle sister in this episode!!! I loved it so much - and as usual - your talent for getting people to open up and share fascinating stories is just incredible. XXX

AH! I am sorry....go to the mill tour, I think she mentions it
@julieellis76036 жыл бұрын
I didn’t hear her (Kate=tall spinster with silver hair) mention it in the mill tour, but someone asked about it in the comments there, and got the same reply. The two sweaters that short spinster with dark hair (Rachel) is wearing _are_ described in that video. But I didn’t make notes; I was too gobsmacked by the machinery and processes of the mill, and the samples they included. Wow! Kristy you are absolutely right about it being difficult to imagine how spincycle yarn actually knits up. I have seen it a few times in nice LYSes, like the Knot House in Maryland, and wondered. Now these images will be fueling my imagination. But I do have a promise to myself to reduce my stash A LOT before I buy any more. Better go knit! And while I write this comment, I’m cracking up all over again at Kristy’s face during Rachel’s funky tales of being a squirrel, sitting and knitting in a tree.

could you link to the other podcast with the Spincycle ladies that you referred to? (Not the mill tour - loved that!) but the one that someone else did?

I LOVE this interview! I feel like the spinsters are some of the most interesting people. Also- that one thing you can't touch when fixing a microwave? Don't touch that thing inside a disposable camera either. Ouch.
