I listen to this song a lot and the main reason is "he became drinker and she became mother, i knew one day it would be one or the other" that line perfectly encapsulates how i feel abourt a person in my life, fucking genius likes.

This was their encore for the show in 1980 when I saw them in Toronto......brilliant...the whole crowd was singing and swaying their arms to this.....amazing show!

Not to be contrary but I would vote for beats out McCartney hands-down* & cohabitates with the spirit of John somewhere East of Essex 😊❤ * Come-on-now, be honest! Squeeze, even at their worst, would still not have recorded "Jet" 😉
