ahhh the classical invisible sten mag. My grandpa served in ww2 and told me his squads always had 3-4 invisible mags like you can see at 4:20 , increased visibility and confused the enemy soldiers. Glad they stayed historically accurate and even added this feature that is unknown to a lot of people.

Who else thinks that Kris is the best console Battlefield 5 player. The background footage on his video is often much better than stuff in top plays' videos. Such high killstreaks and always does amazing with any weapon.

The problem with the Thomson was it’s machined receiver. It was expensive and time consuming to produce. Yes the sten gun and grease gun were stamped steel and just cobbeled together.

I am 1 part away from having a full-gold MP-40. The performance looks nearly identical to the Sten. They should add a suppressor option in the specializations to make it unique in some way.

A sten gun and MP18 were the only two guns for medic that were even remotely in the early days of BF5 since there was the bad recoil, yes its a close range weapon, but close range has a distance and if the effective range is also shared with melee weapons. Though a lot of guns were plagued due to extremely high recoil, shooting a single bullet would throw the entire aim and requires half a lunch break to regain.

If you're going to play medic on maps with longer range enemy contact, the sten is easily the best option. I'm entirely confused as to why folks prefer the mp34.

the really funny thing is that all automatic guns are a 4-shot kill within 10m distances. So with slower firing SMGs you might still loose quite often in CQC where you think your SMG should have an advantage. Especially guns like the STG1-5/M1907SF/STG44 FG-42/KE7 and any shotgun in the game being straight up faster killing then half the SMGs, while being even more effective beyond these 25-30m mark. Semi-autos if they hit their shots also annihilate any SMG anytime of the day and MMGs with their insane RPM can also melt you just as fast in that CQC battle. All in all the medic guns are loosing out to almost every other gun in the game. right now even the revolver can out DPS an SMG if he hits his 2 shots/ 1 HS..... I really love the role of medic in BF games but the class used to be versatile. decent at somewhat all ranges and at its most lethal in the hands of skilled players. but with the medic now in BFV its on 5/8 maps just a chore to play. Assault and support just reign supreme at almost all ranges. Reviving is also a mixed bag half the time because you in 75% of the time you must use smoke to pull it off in the first place taking it away for pushing objectives. Versatility has always been the driving factor in class popularity and with the assault having a weapons arsenal capable of anything at any range with the most powerful gadgets is just bad design in my opinion..... having anti-infantry and anti-tank in one class why exactly?! im sorry but the sad truth is medic is underpowered and quite frankly underused by the community with me seeing outside of "Devastation" maybe a 10-15% usage of the class. which should be a good indicator of how well it performs´for the majority of players even with the infinite health available not being enough to choose the class.... and for those who want to know why i feel that way battlefieldtracker.com/bfv/profile/origin/X-Sunslayer-X/overview

Aren't you supposed to grab the magazine of the Sten, not the heat shield?

Grabbing the magazine can jam the weapon. The heat shield is also a bad choice, but the handguard is much worse. There was no safe spot to handle the Sten properly.

I do like the gun, given how iconic it is. How ever, i only have 2 super small gryps with it. First, the slow rate of fire/damige output and second; that the soldier dossent hold on to the mag like with the mp28

Linus on the Line the mags were notoriously unreliable, especially when held, and holing it by the mag well increases the risk of accidentally dropping the mag.

Comrade Cowboy Ah, I didn't know that, thank you :) I simply thought that was the optimal way of holding the weapon cus it seems to be a bit unstable, having a mag protruding out to side giveing you imbalance weight when you're holding it. But given the fact that my first encounter with the sten was in COD 2 (2006), where the soldier is holding the mag I thought that was the way you were supposed to hold it

Wrong. They created this gun after a sinking of a ship of thompsons meant for Britain. They needed subs at the time and this was a really bad moment. They needed subs now so they copied one of those ww1 German submachine guns they had in their innovatory stock pile for research. Thus the sten came into existence.

Not exactly wrong... It was mainly to match the production rate of the German MP38, a cheaper weapon than the Thompson was needed, especially after their supply losses at Dunkirk, so the sten was born to fit the bill.
