In the British Army they learned to hold the sten like this. Only in Movies and Videogames they hold it at the Magazine. If you hold it at the Magazine there is a high chance of Jamming.

The Sten is my favorite Submachine gun in design overall. It looks so distinctive from the other SMGs with the magazine poking out the side. It's a cool looking gun.

Lot of games get the STEN hold wrong, in real life, using the mag as handle can cause jams or falure to feed, cause while you are firing the weapon jumps and vibrate, it can cause the mag that is hold to dislodge and extract a bit so it won't feed the cartridge in the chamber, but jamming between the receiver an the firing mechanism. (Sorry if I misspelled, English isn't my primary language).

The Stengun is the standard sub-machine gun for the British Empire (Uk)’s British armies during WW2. With a mag on the side it is quite comfortable to wield the weapon and since it’s very short it allows you to go in large speeds. The gun is conflicted of 2 sides being low recoil, fast fire rate and high recoil, low fire rate. I agree with low fire rate high recoil.

It always concerns me how in CoD Classic, the guy clicks the magazine release to reload but in CoD Bo1, they don’t click it. I know it’s two separate companies but I mean come on, ones in 2003 while the other is in 2010. That’s a 7 year difference right there. Still love both games!

Reznov's flash back level, "Project Nova." Since it's a flashback to the 1940s, WWII arms (all ports from World at War) including the sten are usable. Good level. ;)

Possibly but the STEN was designed to be used and abused, my grandfather dropped one when he was parachuted into France. Luckily, he found it shortly after landing and it still worked after a 500 ft. drop so it can withstand quite a lot of punishment.

Georg Grech Not completely sure but I think the heat shield was only on the mk2S, so if the sten is mk1 or 2 you have to hold by the mag.

Georg Grech Exept it isn't. It's called a barrel sleeve and does not vent hot air so it gets very hot. There was reason why a leather strap was issued to cover the sleeve for you to hold it. It may be alright for a couple of shots, but one you start using the thing properly the metal will simply get too hot.

infireyinferno 11 Mk1s had both a hand guard and grip. Later models didn't have any kind of guard or grip.

Even for a game from 2005, COD 2 still holds up substantially. Definitely a lot nicer to look at than some today. For example, I'm surprised there's arm hair on the player's character seen here using the sten along with roughened texures on the gun itself. As much as I adore San Andreas, it's hard to believe that COD 2 came out the year after SA. (I suppose the better graphics is due to it being a fps and SA an open world, though.)
