I heard them live in Krakow and immediately bought two CD's. Also, when they later came to Finland I of course went to see and hear them again. One of them also played a stool like a drum! Gorgeous music, great artists, awesome consert!

I was looking for some Polish music and found this by chance, fell in love with it and with the group immediately. Can you believe it? They played live in my city a couple of days later but I found out the day after. I felt like crying... I agree with most of the comments. It takes you away from real world :)

I gave this interpretation: it retraces all the phases of sleep, as the hours go by, the deepest stages of consciousness, the REM phase, the most hidden aspects, until slowly the world of the living is started again, touching the deepest notes of the psyche ... I recently found a piece of yellowing paper with some names and titles written on it. I remember making the list 21 years ago when I was a student - I had been listening to a late night music programme on the BBC called 'Late Junction'. They obviously impressed me. Most of the names mean nothing to me now, and very few of the titles either. So I have decided to find them all and listen to them to see if they still impress. 'Time' is the first I have found. I am still impressed!

Amazing - that's where I first heard it too (BBC Radio 3, if I'm not mistaken) and also wrote it down but fortunately I didn't wait 21 years, and bought the CD shortly afterwards! I was reminded of it at a live gig tonight, and came straight home and played it again for the first time in a couple of years: it still reminds me of that magical first hearing all those years ago - including that wayward flute! . . .

According to the Kroke website, this was released in 1999 on their album "The Sounds of Vanishing World." The earliest Boban Markovic version I can find was recorded in 2004. It may (or may not) be based on a traditional klezmer song, but I have not heard anything earlier (or by anybody else.)
