I dunno man, i'm a shooting coach and I practice and teach multiple different forms for different sized players. The behind the head over the shoulder push is actually a very good form IF you can master(to a degree) it. This form allows for a very soft bounce off of the rim so the roll in is much much more likely. It also allows the shot extra distance from any defender especially for tall players. Thats why Bird is still the best 'guarded shooter' and 'off balance shooter' of all time.

Just thought I'd tell the internet I currently go to a high school that's in the same conference as the school where Larry Bird graduated in French Lick. Springs Valley High School is what they call his old school now, it's a member of the Patoka Lake Athletic Conference. In fact, if you read Bird's biography, he says that Emerson gym was his favorite place to play in high school ball. In Mitchell, Emerson gym is what our junior high uses now, but it's still pretty cool to know that he said that. Even after all these years, The Hick from French Lick is still regarded as a hero in southern Indiana, and an icon to all athletes hoping to go somewhere in life. People like Larry make me proud to be a Hoosier.

Anyone remember that Larry Bird commercial when the team was down like 200 points with 3 minutes left on the clock and the announcer said the team would need a Miracle to come back and win! and then the spot light shines on the crowd and Larry Bird stands up and with one hand removes his entire suit revealing him to be wearing the teams Jersey and shorts that was down on points, the announcers say "OMG! ITS LARRY BIRD! and Bird comes in and brings the team back in like 3 minutes and they win! I love that commercial, I wish there was some where online you could go to and look up any video you had seen during your life and relive the happiness you had for set memory.
