KRON 1984 - Marine World moves to Vallejo's Lake Chabot Golf Course

(Credit - Visit Vallejo.) Mid 80s Bay Area clip with Karl Sonkin reporting on how the aquatic amusement park was preparing to leave their Redwood City location and how locals were very excited about it coming (still there today too!), outside of town off Highway 37 and Interstate 80, near the Solano County Fairgrounds.
The only opposition at all was from some avid golfers, because that meant the old Lake Chabot golf course was being demolished. This is amazing quality footage and might be all that exists to show how it looked way back in the day. Check out the TeleCopter 4 aerial view at 1:07 - its as close as you could get to Google Earth!

Nice, yeah everything seemed so fun in the 80s. Granted I was 5 when they ended but I remember the feeling of the times pretty well.

Back then people didn't realize that this was a bookend to The Peninsula becoming totally lame. The other bookend being the closure of Malibu-Castle of Golf and Games.
