I've been following this series closely. I've benefitted a lot from watching your run throughs before I test drive spear myself on my toons so that I don't start out floundering around. Personal fave so far? I was inspired by your video to take a spear-spin on Ele and was quite pleased with what I found. I'm also jealous of your Norn ranger's fashion. So please, what are the pieces you're wearing in this video? Thanks in advance!

Quickdraw(from skirmishing) works with the stealth skill, reducing the cooldown on your first use of Panther's Prowl. It also doesn't trigger off of the Untamed ambush. So with Let Loose from untamed you can Unleash-> ambush -> weapon swap(to spear) -> ambush -> Spear 5 -> spear 2 -> Spear 5 -> spear 4 -> spear 2 again or spear 3.

pets could do the trick. they can make juv warclaw provide stealth (for both you and pet) and that its ferocious its a great pairing for a strike oriented Soul beast. other specs could benefit too if they run the pet. but I also see that it takes away the freedom to choose pets when using a spear, also I am not a pvp player so i dont know how that would be balanced. PS. you also have the option to run smokescale as the second pet for smoke field but that is too cluncky for a PVE perspective.

Juvenille Jaguar and Druid with Celestial Shadow can stealth, on top of smoke finishers of course (smoke scale).

im still testing but a power druid maybe can be viable with the lingering light and celestial shadow (CA cd down + stealth and super speed leaving CA) while providing boons while changing pets and warhorn + healing

is there a way to play valid even in grp content with a bow and spear? I guess its very steriotype. But i thought about GW2 starting and i wanna play a "Legolas" type and then i read everywhere that the game is basicly melee only and ranger doesnt play bow. Isnt even the range for me. i can still be in grp with a bow. Question is, is it valid dmg wise or atleast with the spear? I dont wanna play a ranger, with axes, hammer etc... ^^

Is spear for everyone as a characters in gw2?

You have multiple ways to gain stealth as a ranger. Druid has a trait that gives you stealth when you leave celestial avatar. Smokescale is a classic one with its smoke field. Jaguar has insta stealth. LB 3. You have to be careful with giving stealth to ranger because they have great survivability already and too mich stealth can be problematic in competitive.

@@bokan800 I don’t see Druid being a force with the spear - and ally granted stealth is unreliable with timing. The pet is okay, but feels so crucial to certain builds that is can be tricky. I do like that they added it to Jaguar. Also skill splitting exists so that doesn’t really matter when it comes to comp balance.

Isint soulbeast a condi elite spec? Why use a power spear with a condi spec.

@@Nathan-bf7mt Soulbeast isn’t inherently Condi - it definitely is strong with it, but being able to gain quickness and merge with power pets makes it comfy to use for power too.

I think Mukluk did some testing with spear on his Druid, as he plays that character a lot in open world. I don’t remember much about that video, but I think he was unimpressed by the Druid spear and IIRC, he said that there were better weapons for Druid.
