So many talk about how Kroot can do nothing against Elites, and I would agree for the most part. But, they have the Skinning Blades that do really well against Elites, and going wide allows you to get points against an Elite team. It is fun, wide, hide, and charge,

Interesting that there's no mention of kroot hounds. These beasts are fragile but spikey and should really be mentioned in an analysis of kroot, especially as there are only three troop options... you missed 33% of them out completely. 3APL on Krootox is a blast, the effect a big model like this has on the table is fantastic, it draws fire and attention and allows you to sneak about in its shadow. Kroot rapidly run out of CP, with perfect ambush and Fieldcraft being turn 1 staples, Patient Stalkers in turn 2 along with Gory Feast if you can kill, then it's down to 1 CP turn 3. Forget Command rerolls! Bolas can be great and weren't mentioned either.... Sure Foot charm and Skinning blades are my fave.... surprised to hear no mention of the better save in Cover, staying in Cover is a critical kroot tactic.

I have found their shooting to be terrible. Strangely, I did much better against marines than not. The Krootox has been my only source of reliable damage. The hunting rifle is a trap, it has been a waste of a model and a waste of equipment points every game, I vastly prefer the skinning blades and surefoot charm. The pistol and the bolas also are not very good. Those hounds are like suicide kamikaze missiles that tear something to shreds and then die but can not take objectives so remember it might be a bad idea to take all 4 against hordes since they tend to trade 1 model for 1 model and can leave me stranded with few objective taking bodies. Perfect Ambush is exactly the same as the GSC tactic unfortuantely. I think what I need to stop forgetting about. crucially, is the heal they can get on a kill with gory feast that also boosts their APL up 1 for a turn (since all APL gains to my knowledge only last until your next activation). Can make a kroot into a space marine or a krootox into a custodes for a turn - provided they get a kill and survive.
