When teclis starts taking the nearby jungle settlement, it kind of ruins your economy. But if you kill teclis, then you have to meet kairos’s faction, which is another pain to deal with because his range demon does so much damage, and then suddenly the dwarves and khalida declare war on you too 😅

yeah I have had a lot of fun with this campaign but was a slow pace because as you're about to finish your fist skaven enemy the other one comes after you and if you want tlaqua to like you you need to end you non agression pact with teclis because they always seem to go to war and Tlaqua want to kill the minor lizardmen faction nearby for some reason too so I've found it helpful to get on Tlaqua's good graces and get an alliance and kill teclis and then kairos with help from Oxyotl if he still lives

Even if you don't kill Teclis, he's stuck between a rock and a hard place. Kairos will eventually kill him off anyway.

I let teclis take it Its not important and having a few helf archer units in some stacks is actually really fucking good for lzm Same for thorek btw, i opt for alliance since quarrelers

This is why you rush north kill Khalida, make a military alliance with Thorek for when Skarbrand and Queek come at you. Then turn south to kill Teclis and help Oxy deal with Kairos. Plus all those mana and cd traits for Kroak.

Going south to snipe that province before Teclis gets it is probably the best early game move in Kroq-gar's campaign. Getting that gold mine early is a huge boon to your economy.

My favorite Lizardman faction to play. I recently had an amazing Kroq-gar campaign where I was able to confederate Tik'taq'to, Oxyotl, Tehenhauin, Nakai, and Gor-Rok. Mazdamundi was unfortunately wiped out though. My all time favorite thing happened in that campaign too. I was cleaning up the tomb kings with Kroq-gar and company and sent Oxyotl over to save Lustria from the Skaven and filthy warm-blooded humans. I shit you not...Gor-Rok was down to one settlement at Axlotl where the shrine of the chameleon landmark is and Oxyotl showed up in time to save him. Really epic moment (at least to me). If there is a Great Plan, that had to have been it.

CA really ought to apply the rank scaling damage for his old-bloods onto Kroq-Gar himself, considering he is one. At max level he winds up as weaker than the generic lords as a result, and it's a bit of a silly oversight and bummer. Great campaign in all other aspects though.

They may change that one day. In WH2 Mazdamundi didn't have the effects of a second generation Slann and they added them to him at some point.

There is a second thing Legend forgot to mention. Now u can recruit Saurus Veterans from tier II building in Krog'Gar campaign, so after taking the first skaven setlement u can recruit him there to start exping him up!

I like the reviews, would love to hear you discuss the short campaign goals and long campaign goals as those aren't visible on the main menu. I think it's good to talk about since a bunch of games are better with specific goals in mind rather than a 50 turn conquest.

Kroq-Gar is such a fun campaign. First of all, he looks cool af. Second, he has a ton of enemies to keep him entertained and help all those Scar Veterans level quickly. Stegadon doomstacks are cool but I prefer to ride carnosaurs into battle. Every battle is like an Okoii meme video with carnies leaping everywhere, tearing everything apart.

Kroq-Gar was one of my favorites in WHII despite the drawbacks of his faction and campaign. When I fire up III again he's a big contender for my next campaign since his changes sound awesome.

The most fun I ever had in IE was when I spawned Primeval Glory as Kroq turn 20 and had a desperate crusade through Kairos’s chaos-infested hellhole, always just a half-step ahead of bankruptcy

Early game Kroq-Gar is super difficult but after you deal with the first 3 battles with Mordkin it steamrolls. Really fun.

My strat is to beat the skaven army, but then pull back to my territory and recruit a full stack army, usually skinks. Then I go back and steamroll the Skaven.

How about you get Mordkin, then Teclis takes a settlement south from the other Skavens, then Mannfred decides you're a worthy treat, while that stupid ass dwarf and his Expedition thinks the same ? That was for my tiny crybaby time :( Starting over hoping for better diplomacy luck...

Kroq-gar is a fucking chad. He was my playthrough for Warhammer 2's Vortex campaign, and to this day it's one of my favourite campaigns

Main issue with this campaign is that you are forced to defend yourself back and forth from the north and the southern rats for the first 20 turns or so without being able to afford a 2nd army to defend against either front. Once you do eventually push either of them into a treaty youll have to worry about the Birds from the south, Dwarfs/Egyptians from the north and the Empire/otherLizards from the east. Main problem is you need to defend way too many fronts at once way too early in the game without any way to make extra armies early on

Fun campaign, the only thing that annoyed me was that some temples remain ruins after retaking them from the Skaven, even at tier 5. That was when immortal empires just got released so maybe they've fixed the bug by now.

I love the lore and concept of the lizard men, but most of their factions have always been a struggle for me not to get board. I think a slight rework to their world map gameplay would definitely have me playing more campaigns. I would love to see a norsca campaign review!

@@redcrown5154 I feel he gets a lot less movement from winning battles, so its way harder to keep momentum (which makes him fun) and his starting army is pretty bad now, so you need to "build up" way longer

I might actually start a Krok Gar campaign now. I’d love to see a video on Kairos, I started a campaign as him recently and I found it to be extremely unenjoyable. By the time you’re almost done cleaning up nurgle and slaanesh to the east, Oxyotl declares war on you and Teclis will as well at some point as will the lizardmen once you encounter them

I didn't even know about the changes on kroq-gars faction buffs. I'm glad they made him more viable because he is my favourite LL from the lizardmen even though hes not the best. P.S.: Love your videos and I'm glad you make these reviews. Keep it up!

It's crazy how many changes were made for Immortal Empires, I had no idea that so many factions had their effect re-worked. Kind of expected them to just pick a new start location for most of them and otherwise be unchanged from Mortal Empires.

The blessed spawnings need a rework too. Empire can build their amazing elector count units but Kroq Gar has precious little ways to get blessed units, in fact it gets harder and harder and longer and longer to get blessed units at the end game. Only decent way to do it is confederate and decent Lizardmen player understands how awful hard it is to confederate

I'm waiting on the Lizardmen Geomantic Web rework before I play again. It's been a sore spot since game 2 that the Lizardmen faction mechanics have been so overlooked despite having 3 DLC (all of which had the LM as a secondary focus).

I actually prefered to be "stuck in the corner of the map" - it allowed me to focus on 1 enemy at a time, and build up my armies, get some higher tier units before expanding more, which is also very good for lizardmen, since they have pretty poor early game, and very powerful late game (in terms of economy for example). I played Kroq-Gar in Immortal Empires, and I actually hate his starting position, it's far too exposed, you have far too many potential enemies (one of them is the most annoying enemy in the whole game - the master of deception). I wish I could have his old starting position from ME in IE, because I really like Kroq-Gar as the character...

I don't think the geomantic web needs a rework, I think it just needs a buff. Extra movement speed for your armies (or redued movement speed for enemy armies) attrition (it is a jungle after all) would be a cool thing

It really needs something more than high tier settlements with other high tier settlements just give more income. It doesn't really lead to interesting gameplay. Maybe if there were different versions of it or if it allowed you to cast spells as bombardments if you have a Slann in a temple city or something.

yeah, me too, I had him as one of my first campaigns in WH2 and I just got stuck in a mountain of bones in the desert. I didn't realize how good the monsters were and focused on the strong infantry, noob mistakes

ok so question I've been playing my Kroq-Gar campaign for awhile now and I still can't recruit Salamanders, Ripperdactyls, Coatls, Red Crested Skinks or Razordons. Can Kroq-Gar just not recruit those units? Are they DLC units I won't have access to until I purchase the needed DLC? Or is this a bug?

wow, CA did not nerf factionwide buff skills for lizerdman, but they removed arch-lectors bonus to all character untainted generation. Seems that CA really hates empire players (only giving us 2 dlcs in all 3 games and no major reworks).

The Archlector skill was immensely stronger though? Infinite success chance witch hunters is far, far stronger than getting+2 gold per turn from each settlement at the cost of 1000 gold (which is awful return on investment unless you own half the map). They should have left the factionwide corruption reduction effect for Volkmar though, no need to remove that
