Yeah these kids never grew up with him. It's why you barely see Chi mentioned on new stuff anymore. Most of their TikTok fans just joined so I get it. I just hope they do their research if they truly wanna claim Deftones as their favorite band. Just to show some respect for Chi. Dude was a key member. And since losing Sergio too and now Stef, I'm starting to lose faith in them.

First time I saw Deftones was at the Newport Music Hall in Columbus Ohio, July 7th 2000 on The White Pony tour. Glassjaw was the opening act. Words can’t describe how amazing and crazy that show was. Chino crowd surfed all the way to back of the venue singing Weezer. A kid jumped from the top balcony and Chino made sure everyone on the floor was going to catch him. One of those memories you will always cherish and nothing else can compare to.

I saw them on that tour in Houston. I’ve been to a lot of shows but I gotta say that was probably the best one I’ve been to. Deftones and Glassjaw put on a damn near flawless performance. Words can’t describe how amazing it was and the impact it had on me as a kid

Every time I hear about Deftones (my favourite band of all-time) making new music, I always get really excited about it! Ohms was a masterpiece and I think their upcoming 10th album will be a masterpiece as well.

Masterpiece is a big word. I still think their albums Adrenaline, Self-titled and SNW are their best work so far. Adrenaline can never be replicated. It was a moment in time for them. S/T is my favorite album of theirs but depending on the day, I might say SNW. That album was hated on for years when it was released in 2006. I love White Pony obviously but Ohms, Gore are good just not masterpieces. Also I know most of their fans nowadays are young so they never grew up seeing Chi Cheng in the band but I still miss him. And then they let Sergio go after 10 years. That breakup was hard to watch. Sergio was so nice and only wanted to be part of the band like the rest but Chino didn't want that and saw it as him being greedy. He said fuck Sergio literally on Mixlr. I remember that. It made me lose some respect for Chino.

@@IceKoldKilla The thing is, Adrenaline is more of a hardcore album than a typical nu metal album (unlike Korn and Limp Bizkit), yet critics have cited Adrenaline as an important classic nu metal album, which I respect their opinion, but in my opinion, Adrenaline isn't necessarily a nu metal album, I simply see Adrenaline as a Deftones album. As with Around the Fur (which is my favourite album from the band), the band were still developing their own sound. Take Chino Moreno for example: he cited Depeche Mode, Bad Brains and the Cure as influences while Stephen Carpenter was a big fan of bands like Meshuggah, Metallica and Anthrax. And then White Pony came out, and they took their sound to the next level by incorporating influences of post-punk, post-rock, shoegaze, trip hop etc...And from that album on, they progressed even more. And also, you've mentioned that Saturday Night Wrist is your favourite album? That's interesting because Saturday Night Wrist has often been misunderstood for years, but I personally think that they did a great job making that album, despite the fact that the band were going through a tough time making it. As with the band's 2003 self-titled album, that album slaps!!!! SO heavy, SO crushing, SO seductive and just generally a great album, MUCH MUCH better than Limp Bizkit's Results May Vary.
