I can't believe how underrated Mike Einziger is. I have been a huge Incubus fan since their early days and since I play a little guitar, I have always been amazed by Mike's talent and creativity. When I first heard this song, I liked the guitar right away and when I read that it was Mike who had wrote it, it just made sense. This guy is one of the greatest guitarist of our generation. Simple yet great, and he plays so joyfully.

Pretty much all of A Crow Left of the Murder is great song after great song, but Sick Sad is probably my favorite, and that guitar solo is just on a whole different level. Have you ever seen their Live at Red Rocks performance? I highly recommend it.

"Writing" a song does not mean specifically writing the lyrics, it is synonymous with composing the song. Mike and Avicii wrote/composed the song in a matter of minutes in their very first session together. Aloe Blacc presumably wrote the lyrics.

It’s often said that once you strip back all the layers of production and instrumentation a truly great song will still shine when played bare-bones and acoustic. I don't have anything against Avicii. I do however get annoyed by his fans that state this is "his song". This was a collaboration. Mike Einziger wrote most of the chord progression with input from Avicii and Aloe Blacc wrote and sang the lyrics. Avicii took that and essentially made a remix of it with his music. Now it wouldn't have came to be without Avicii, but everyone needs to give credit where credit is due.
