So not only did they get a new vocalist, but a different vocal style altogether? I'm not behind this yet but I'll see how the album pans out. I'd like to see more diversity like before. I'm not saying he isn't talented. So far it just seems a bit monotone for me apart from the occasional highs, where as the guy in solem vatem often used different tones and techniques, even making me think sometimes that I was listening to more than one vocalist.

To be honest, it took a little time for me to get use to the new singer to, but that new track "To persist or to adhere" is the next big thing. And the singer totally kills his role in the video and vocally.. that's hard to come by

@@bradleydarko557 saw the video. It's still monotone as hell. I would just like to hear this new vocalist use more ranges. Instrumentally this new album is sounding more generic and emotionless. I feel like now they are just trying to be more heavy and less melodic. It almost seems like the band is revolving around the vocalist rather than the vocalist revolving around the band. I would have liked it to come to a balance where they could do both but so far I'm not getting any feels from this new stuff like I have in solem vatem.

The older albums reminded me of final fantasy with awesome ass metal music. I admit it was kinda hard to transition, but sometimes I think even with it being monotoned, especially here, it works. I think this is hitting me harder than it probably is for most people because I literally just discovered this band a couple months ago, even after they had already released duplicity. I've been listening to this genre since about 2008 and solem vatem I have literally declared for myself the best album I've ever heard... and knowing that they will never sound the same... it hurts. I haven't felt this way about a band since entities announced their indefinite hiatus 4 years ago.

Duplicity was released as a one off single and is not on an album. We typically write concept albums where all of the songs are connected both lyrically/musically and Duplicity ended up being a different style than the songs we wrote subsequently.
