The taken king era was truly one of my favorite memories of a video game. I made so many friends and had so much fun, going flawless in trials a few times, clearing kings fall on all 3 characters every week, being excited as fuck every time iron banner came around. It was such a fun time. Destiny 2 is fun but it’s just still never hit that same level of magic for me that Destiny 1 had. Specifically TTK. I miss it so much

I still go back and watch these videos often. To me Destiny 1 really did feel like the next evolution of what halo was especially in PVP after we had had halo reach. I’m not sure we will ever experience a game like this ever again. It was never perfect, but damn it was so unique and I wouldn’t trade the memories with the people I met from playing it for anything. Just looking at the art style and listening to the music, It makes me so nostalgic and miss what Bungie had with Destiny 1. Love you big guy.

D2 feels like its always trying to find a solution to a problem that was made out of changing things too much (I could go on about all the changes made going to D2 that feel like they've always tried to bring back in some form from D1 that didn't succeed or weren't on par). Plus the music, audio queues, and mainly for me the visuals are way better in D1.

The universe just pulled me in immediately. Some of the most immersive experiences I’ve ever had came from that game.

I was already 30 when it launched. I remember working in shifts and being off on weekdays. My wife got up early in the morning to go to work. I got up too and instantly started D1. When she came back after work she found me where she left me: playing D1 in a bath robe 😂 Great memories! The nostalgia gets me every time. I can't escape and I can't understand why they made D2 so ugly, colorful and wiped out the magic of D1.
