It's honestly super impressive watching them do these speedrun strats. Also funny knowing that they were 6-12 when the game came out and here they are playing it over the newer game lol. Usually it's the other way around where younger people don't want to touch the older games

as someone who's 20 that's been playing destiny since February 2016 when I got it for my 12th birthday, I can say that nostalgia plays a huge factor in why I still play D1 to this day. D2 is certainly fun but the seasonal churn out just gets tiring for me so returning to my childhood game has always been fun for me. Replaying campaign missions, running strikes and the occasional nightfall and such have been very fun to this day. The only thing for me is I haven't ever raided in D1 before. While I've run through all the raids multiple times in D2, I was too scared being my 12-14 year old self to raid in D1 and never got around to it when D2 came out although it's always been something I've wanted to do.
@Tristanator05032 ай бұрын
@fissilepear7805 I never raided in D1. Was too young and didn't have a mic either. I did year 1 crota checkpoints during year 3 but definitely not the same as actually raiding lol. I miss the game. I was so young at the time that I didn't fully understand a lot of aspects of it. Now I fully understand D2 so much that I'm doing youtube videos on it. However I still wish I could go back to D1 and get a better understanding, but with my Xbox and dvd both being gone, that will probably never happen 😞

It's the epitome of those situations when people look at more recent Day 1 raid races and speculate which streamer will get it, but forget that there is a complete ecosystem of people most have never heard about being "that guy" who can pull off the machine precision min/max output no questions. It's basically why the more familiar names fumble because you're up against people that are doing absurdity on the regular and not just a one time thing. The bar for the competition is sky high and you're up against very insanely good people.

I really don’t get the view that D1 was somehow better than what we have in D2, you’re viewing D1 through EXTREMELY tinted glasses. D2 added so many QOL and gameplay upgrades that it’s almost unfair to compare the two.
@Olgod20042 ай бұрын
Totally different games. IMO if destiny 2 retained the visual aesthetics of destiny 1 but with the updated graphics (and maybe the art style of destiny 2 is a little questionable, as the gear looks like mobile game type of stuff at times), then destiny 2 would be leaps and bounds better simply due to how the game looks. It always amazes me how destiny 1, while a much simpler game and older game than destiny 2, seems to just “look” like the game is better. Gameplay wise destiny 2 is much faster paced and actually has builds. I just wish the visuals of destiny 1 made it to destiny 2.

I'm a seasoned Destiny 2 player. I'm cracked for crucible, but pride myself in speed-playing end game content and competitive damage. During Episode 1 for Destiny 2, I started the achievements for D1... Going back and playing a game I loved and fully maxing things out was an absolutely humbling experience. I'm a titan main at heart, and I never got to live out the fantasy of being the best class to its fullest as you can in D1... since in D2 they've been in weird spots in the meta more often than not. Since I started the achievements, I have been able to live out many of the raid, exotic metas, and weapon metas. It's been an insane amount of fun, and it's the same grind I've been addicted to in Destiny 2. Almost got all the subclasses and classes maxed out. Only hunter is left for 400 attack level, then maxing out the subclasses for warlock and hunter. Anyways, I've noticed as well that there are so many kids playing this game... no hate or anything but most of the people you raid with will be 20 years old or younger. Nice video. Last note: D1's community is so small, I've raided with these guys, or at least guys like this. You will find the same people online doing raids very often. This is not a rare sight.

Yeah many are people who grew up playing bungie games then discovered destiny and fell in love when they were young then where disappointed in destiny 2. Personally he showed the good side but there is a seedy side to destiny 1. Due to its peer to peer networking people can pull your ip address. Many do this if they don’t like you or you happen to be in a game with someone they don’t like. They then boot you offline. There are groups out there that also have saved lists of players IP’s and make doxing lists since they can tell your rough location off your IP and I have heard story’s about people getting swatted IRL but it’s hearsay Since destiny 1 has a low player count there aren’t many tower servers meaning people who know how to do the taunt crash glitch can sit in the tower and crash everyone’s games people like to troll and do this when due arrives (it involves using the praise the gun taunt and another but people gate keep this because if everyone could do it the game would become unplayable which I respect honestly) So yeah destiny 1 is a great experience but once you start getting to know the community you will know who to stay away from and who is okay Also if you can look up you ip and it gives your exact local you should probably run a vpn to be safe from getting doxxed but my internet for example lists another area completely where I’m from so I’m okay

Ngl being a kid during destiny 1 was imo way better than playing destiny as an adult. I’m 22 now but playing destiny 1 as a schoolboy in year 8 was absolutely the pinnacle of life. No job no commitments just vibes. Getting kicked from every raid group the second they heard a squeaker was character development at its finest. Playing destiny 2 later in my teen years was always a mission because splitting time with life commitments and grinding the game was a myth. Playing the game from 7:30am till 9pm bedtime was viable as a kid but doing that same thing as an older teen would’ve resulted in me getting smacked for being a bum🤣. The game that enabled a group of 13 year olds from London to befriend the most random people including 43 year old US army veterans always holds a special place in my heart. More than just a game. D1 up until the end of taken king was for many including myself, life. Might be cringe but oh well lmao
