God I miss the old days. The days when Minecraft updates were something to look forward to, and Mojang made reasonable decisions. I remember back then, before the Pandemic, playing on Minecraft Pocket Edition as a wee lad playing with various add-ons that added fantastical mobs like minotaurs anf giant villagers. A pale imitation of Ice and Fire or Greek Fantasy but I made it work. Forged a fantasy world of ice with long abandoned dwarven holds carved into mountains, now occupied by villagers hiding from the armies of armed and armoured zombies. Corpses of completely frozen giants (straight up just giant ice statues I built) literred the wasteland. I could probably recreate that world using Ice and Fire or Greek Fantasy nowadays but I would outright refuse to do so on modern Minecraft. In my opinion, 1.16.5 is the version right before it all went downhill. I have nothing against the Caves and Cliffs or the Deep Dark. They're honestly pretty cool updates despite how moddy they feel.

Honestly I agree after 1.16.5 Minecraft was not the same, but I think it’s nice to look back on the memories this game allowed me to make. God I remember installing my first mod think it was some sort of aeroplane mod those were the days

Yeah the updates do seem like “it’s not the same” but you’re right, it will never be the same because things change and grow like us. We all still love the game no matter what. I listen to Minecraft music on repeat doing literally anything because it just brings me back to a time when there wad more peace than there is today.
