I’ve always been obsessed with the greaser subculture. It’s the greatest subculture in history and has the best style, music, attitude, and just all around everything is great about it. I’m african american + puerto rican and for a long time I always thought I could never be a greaser because hollywood mostly portrayed it as a whites only type of thing in most movies I have personally seen. Plus I was born in ‘99 so I never got a good introduction into the subculture. However, since I was 16 I was rocking the look. I used to be a shorts and t-shirt guy, then when I hit high school I took up the greaser look. I don’t have long enough hair to sport the hairstyles so I just slick my curly hair back with murrays and boy does that shit work great. Love the channel man, recently found you, and god damn I love seeing a good old school cat like yourself still rocking. I’ve even met some original 50s cats who compliment my style. I love how much the culture still loves one another!

My parents never had a problem with me going with the greaser look and lifestyle. My mom grew up in the 50s, she hung out with greasers. She even married one, and had a daughter with him, (my oldest sister). Plus she's a huge fan of Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, and Richie Valens. My dad was a real cowboy, and cowboys are in their own way rebels. Plus, correct me if I'm wrong but the rebel spirit originated from the cowboys in the old west. So having parents who are both rebels in their own way. Neither of them had a problem with me going greaser. In fact, my mom liked it the most. She said once, when she saw me in my full greaser look. That she raised me right. The influences of both the greaser culture and the cowboy culture, throughout my life. Has influenced my version of the greaser look and lifestyle. I kinda mix the greaser look with the western look. For example, instead of motorcycle boots I wear cowboy boots sometimes. Sometimes I'll wear a cowboy hat, with my jean jacket with the collar popped up. Sometimes I wear a western style button up shirt, over my t-shirt, but I'll leave a couple buttons undone. I like rockabilly music, and classic rock, but I also like country music. Although the kind of country music I like, isn't the same kind my grandparents like. While my grandparents on my dad's side, like the typical golden oldies stuff. I like Charlie Daniels, Hank Williams Jr., Johnny Cash, a style of country music often referred to as outlaw country music. I even done a little bronco riding, and other stuff typically associated with the cowboys. While at the same time doing greaser like activities. Honestly, there really isn't a lot of difference between greasers and cowboys. Both are considered part of a bygone era, both are part of the working class of society, both prefer live by their own rules, both are hard working people, both have that rebel spirit, and both are known for getting rowdy.

the greaser style is the most practical way of dressing hands down, Leather jacket that will last you for many many years, leather boots that will do the same, jeans are hard wearing unlike shitty track pants! In an emergency you will have a lighter in your pocket & also a knife. The style also aids you because people don't usually want to mess with you, if they do the attitude & the response they receive makes sure they will not give you lip again.

People always thought I was a greaser cause of the way I dress. I don’t intentionally try to look like one but I don’t mind if I do, I love the greaser subculture. But anyway in the summer I wear a lot of plain colored tees mostly dark and some jeans and boots, in the winter I do the same thing except I wear a fur lined hoodie to keep me warm. People expect me to drive muscle cars cause of the way I look and listen to rock music but they are dumbfounded when they see me hop in my Acura Integra or Honda Civic lol I’m an import car guy myself, I love Honda’s and I do like Ford’s too. My winter truck is a lifted Ford Explorer. Then the music I listen to is not the greaser type, I’ve been born into a Romanian family so basically I listen to a lot of Romanian music and I do like american alternative music. I honestly didn't know this was such a problem. I'm a rockabilly girl (on the edge of a female greaser) and my mom loves the old-timey stuff. She approves because when she thinks 1950's it's about morals and old-fashioned values, men were gentlemen and girls dressed in cute clothes. I did have to explain to her why I preferred greaser men, because she thought they were abusive thugs for a second. (Little shop of horrors caught her off guard with the dentist) I explained it's the style and lifestyle. They like the cars, the music and the clothes from the 50's and most have dropped most of the 'thuggish' bits. Sure, we might carry a pocket knife for self defense, or have a gun in our boot, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna hold up a store. In anyway, I wish people struggling with their parents the best of luck.

Hey there madman I love your video and your attitude also your sense of humor in your personality. I love rockabilly clothes style and Rock n Roll music plus I grew in 1990 here in SoCal but I’ve always wanted to dress and do things like the 50s kid so I’ve always slicked my hair back during high school (from 2004-2008) using gel & hairspray then mousse & hairspray but I soon discovered that these hair products made my hair/head itching causing me to develop dandruff. So now I currently use pomade and I love it lots. It’s doesn’t make me have any dandruff unlike gel & mousse does. So I’ve been using pomade now and I’ll always use pomade and some hairspray from now on. Where could I get a switchblade and butterfly knives from? and could you send me the website to them.? I wanna get a leather jacket but I don’t know what kind I should get also I’ve never owned any leather jackets in my life. Could you shoot my some pointers on. These questions please. Hey madman! I use Murrays pomade and was wondering do you think American Crew is better? It's more expensive so i didn't know if it would be better quality.

I have a question for you madman. A buddy of mine dyed his hair and everyone at school jumped on him and gave him shit. He ain’t a greaser (or a slick back, or a rockabilly or whatever the hell you wanna call cats). I dyed my hair as a “fuck you” to all of the people giving my pal shit. I got called a poser and shit, anyway my question is, what’s your thoughts on greasers with dyed hair. Mines green right now, and I think it looks pretty cool. Any thoughts on this? I’m not sure where I stand on this.

Point out most rockabilly community's are huge supporters of charity's ! Not many social groups do that
