It's sad we have to go to such great lengths to protect our property and ourselves. I walked out the mall the other day just in time to see a guy snap my lock. I yelled "hey!" Looked at him shaking my head. He slowly walked away with his tail between his legs. Four days ago I received a phone call saying my 11 yr old Daughter didn't show up to school. I immediately broke down crying like a baby thinking someone kidnapped my baby girl. I hopped on my bike and traveled 19km to look for her where she was last seen. Three hours later I received another phone call saying they found my daughter walking around the neighborhood by herself. I was two minutes away from finding her myself because was headed in that exact area. Thank God she was found alive and well. It's a beautiful but scary world.

BTW, you can still use the mount for the lock by altering the attachment on the lock itself. What you do is, you position the frame mount outwards (to the left or right of the bike) and then using the hex key, position the attachment on the lock so that the lock attaches to the mount in parallel to the bike frame. Hope that works.

You are supposed to loop the other end of the cable trough the another. Thats why its called loop cable

It's called "Loop Cable" but it can be used many other ways but what you said definitely made sense :D

Thats awesome i have almost the same combo i also have a kryptonite bike chain and just purchased the u lock as extra protection for long stays. Or just to drop some weight and only carry the u lock for quick in and out stops.

They should be comparable, all depends on how thick you want the bar to be... similar thickness bars should provide similar protection.
