The plates are an inspiration from Charles Dickens book “The Old Curiosity Shop” I own the entire set each piece has something from the book. I was fortunate enough to see the Old Curiosity Shop that inspired the book on a visit to England!💚💚💚

Good Morning! You could hand stitch a few fabric tab/loops to the back of the tapestry, slide a rod through those loops then hang it from the rod on the back and not lose any of the image or damage the fabric with glue 😊
@monical463210 ай бұрын
Came here to say this exact thing. Hand stitching the tab flat cording just below the top and looping the rod that just hides behind the top to help keep it from curling will make it beautiful for a background hanging

The Old Curiosity shop dinnerware is such a fun set to collect. Each plate has a different item, teapot, mug, etc. You did a wonderful job on the store video. You didn’t go too quickly, were close enough to see items well and prices. Great haul and what a store of treasures.
@KrystaMeeker10 ай бұрын
Aww, thank you!! I agree, it looks like a really fun set to collect!! I noticed all of the different items when I was looking it up! I need to get my hands on the teapot! Will be a fun one to hunt for! 🫖❤️

You could also hand stitch a 'casing' across the top of the tapestry for a rod...
@MeganKenny1810 ай бұрын
Ahhh please don’t glue the tapestry! You could hand sew a rod sleeve like they do for competition quilts. That way it doesn’t damage the tapestry and you wouldn’t have to use ring clips.

I have collected Old Curiosity Shop for many years. It is by Royal China. I love the story the plates tell, with images from an antique shop in old London. If you’re interested, there are other Royal collections that look similar and are often confused. The way to tell is, Old Curiosity has hinges around the outside edge of the pieces. Other collections have ox yokes or other images. I’m glad to see someone else loves these plates! I’ve really enjoyed this post. There’s some gorgeous items there for spring!

I found a antique medicine cabinet yesterday. I went back and forth about buying it. It was 35 and I didn’t wanna spend the money even though that was a very very low price. I decided I couldn’t live without it and I’m so glad I bought it. It’s truly stunning and something I’d never come across again.

Love the tapestry! You could staple a strip of wood trim across the top back of the tapestry and mount some hanging device on that. You don't want to lose an inch of that beautiful tapestry. Those colors are perfect for you! The Old Curiosity Shop are so pretty...love the green as well. I'm sure you will find these and I see that pattern has different images on each of the pieces. So much fun!

My suggestion would be to attach a sleeve to the back of your tapestry. Quilters do it when hanging quilts, you can even use safety pins to pin the sleeve to the back and they won’t show on the from it the tapestry.

I have the entire set of the small green plate you bought. I use them daily. (s&p shakers, gravy boat, cream & sugar, 24 pc set of dishes, 2 large platters, coffe cups & sausers and some bowls). I bought the set from an older lady in our church. I love them dearly!! What she told me was that her local grocery store ran a special that for every $5 you spent in groceries, you could either get a piece free or buy a piece for like 50 cents. I can't remember now. She said it was back in the 1950s when she bought a piece at a time. She had a HUGE set. I bought them all and picked through them to make as complete a set as possible. She used them daily then for holidays only for YEARS. So a lot of them were really in bad shape. So I took a huge box of the ones I didn't keep to Goodwill. I regret that dearly now. 😪

That is so interesting!! Can you imagine getting such beautiful dishes for free with your grocery order?! Haha. I think it will be a fun one to collect, I enjoy the hunt, it will be super exciting when I come upon them! Love that you use yours daily! 💚

Hey Krista. Wow love the tapestry! Maybe add some small tabs or little rod pocket on the back with the Hem tape that goes on with an iron. Love the plate from The Curiosity Shop. Have you seen the movies based on the Charles Dickens novel? Isn't it so cool that the dishes were inspired by his novel in the 50's? I adore Charles Dickens also!! All your goodies were great finds! You're not alone in your sudden love of green and Checkerboard Harlequin pattern. I have never like the pattern per say as decor but lately... just something grabs me! LOL the footnote about the box proceeds to make ya look bad cracked me up bc I've tried and tried to open a metal box like that and my Daughter opened it 1st try after me having it for a week or so. 😂 I said it's locked baby... she says no it's opened! I was like WTH?! Lol love that perfect curious mug! 😉 hope you have a super rest of your week! Blessings & Friendship, Erica ❤

I think one of the reasons you grew so much so fast was because a couple of the bigger you tubers mentioned your channel on their video. I found you I think through a YT suggestion and one day watching Pine and Prospect Home mentioned your channel as did She Holds Dearly. Someone I think you’d enjoy is Heart and Home Crew. They just bought a 108 yr old home. Where you love dark and moody, she loves WHITE. But she thrifts almost everything.
