Hard work and planning have certainly paid-off. The kitchen is looking great so far. Your son probably thought it was just a fun activity, but children are sponges that drink up all of life’s lessons, measuring and aiming for perfection are good lessons to learn. You and your husband are not only creating a beautiful and thoughtful home but being good parents in the process. Well done you!

I am STUNNED by how beautiful this is and how CRAZY difficult this floor was to achieve. I am inspired and proud of you both for this kitchen reno. I truly appreciate how much planning, product searching, designing and price comparing went into creating this kitchen. Whatever y'all didn't already know about carpentry/building/tiling etc, you learned it and then executed. I've been through a few large renovations in 2 houses, so I really feel your readiness to be DONE! I cannot wait to see the final reveal with your decorating in place. Thank you for sharing this journey!

I have been following your channel for a while now and what has always struck me is how well your husband and yourself work together! Including your son is priceless as well as creating a life balance like you’ve been doing! The design of your kitchen and the zillions of hours you’ve put in it will be worth it! I am in awe of all the work and skills you’ve learned along the way ! We live in Canada but if I’d live closer I would have made meals for you like I do for our own kids! You’re so deserving !!!! Can’t wait for the reveal and in the meantime enjoy little breaks among what is left to be done ❤

I put the same kitchen green walls, checkered floor and all in my old house about 16 years ago. You were probably a toddler back then. I loved it. When I moved I was so sad to leave that kitchen. Your kitchen is beautiful. Love it.

Hi Krysta! I love the medallions, and the light fixtures are just beautiful! Perfect for the space!😊 Jameson was so cute helping his dad with the cabinet🥰 Love the counter top cabinets! The flooring is gorgeous! Love the luster & shine!! Almost 30yrs ago when i did my black & white flooring, i did linoleum, which was the big thing back then. And it was a checker board pattern, that's all they had. It was A beautiful linoleum, very shiny, but showed every foot print if your foot or shoe was the least bit damp.🥴 The worse part, i had a very large kitchen.. & the floors ended up being so hard to keep looking clean! You could only use one particular product on the floor or it would have a dry powdery looking film.. of course the product was quite expensive! Our pool was right out the back door which came straight into the kitchen & so was our parking area.. you can imagine how often the floors were mopped or spot mopped. Gorgeous nightmare!😄 I know that all won't be the case for you, thankfully right?!😄 It truly is already a beautiful space that we can see so far..i know in real time you guys are already enjoying your gorgeous kitchen! I can't wait to see the final reveal! Thanks for sharing! Have A blessed week!😊

I love what you have done in your kitchen! We had the black and white tiles in the diagonal pattern installed in my kitchen over 10 years ago. Mine were not polished but more of a non-slip texture in porcelain but they look great. We used the charcoal grout and it does stain a bit on the white tiles. The installer used some charcoal lighter fluid to get the stain off. Word of caution...if you drop anything made of glass or ceramic on this floor it will shatter as it is a very hard floor. A few tiles have cracked but not very noticable. I am looking forward to seeing your reveal.

The effort you two have put into this renovation is awesome. My husband and I did a floor similar to your kitchen in a bathroom. That black grout was a nightmare and I had the same job you did - the sponging part. It was August in Florida when we did it, no air conditioning and I swore I would never do it again. I was crying by the time we were thru. LOL.

Everything looks beautiful but my husband had me pause it to point out where the floor might become an issue. He said it needed floor leveler? So if you google that you will see what he's referring to. I hope that it withstands the elements but apparently that would help make sure it does. In any case, it's very nice work you both or all 3 of you have put into your home and it's very inspiring!
@KrystaMeeker4 сағат бұрын
Thank you so much!! Yes, floor leveling is recommended most of the time. We are really fortunate to have a trusted neighbor who is also a contractor that has been so kind to give his advice throughout our renovation. We had a conversation about whether or not it was necessary in our case and we followed his advice. We sure hope for the longevity as well and feel pretty good about it! ❤️

Your kitchen is turning out so beautiful. If I were to set in, not knowing what you have gone through in your decision making process, I would applaud the effort to make the kitchen flow with the original design of the house but adding beautiful touches everywhere possible. The ceiling lights and medallions are so classic and gorgeous. The B&W checker floor gets the same points. I have never tiled and it sounds like you never want to again. I was wondering for those who have the desire to do so, You were great doing all of the meticulous prep work, would it have helped you if when you started buttering the floor, if you have set up laser lines on top of the tile to follow your pattern on the floor underneath the tile? I obviously have no experience, I’m just asking as the result of watching as you covered up your lines during the process.

😊Your kitchen is stunning! I just love everything about it! We have so much left to do on our home, actually redo, we’ve lived here 28 years. I hate our bathroom tile and wanted to try and redo it ourselves but I may just live with it. I have mobility issues so I would be pushing my husband to do it himself. What is the name of the countertop you ended up with? It is stunning! I’ve been looking at options for over a year snd it is overwhelming! Thanks in advance, Mary
