@Simply Sahara I was referring to the parents being civil to each other. If they can’t live together at least be civil for the kids. Just because the parents failed each other, doesn’t mean they have to fail their kids. After all, like it or not, they are connected to each other for the rest of their lives. Birthdays, holidays, weddings, grandchildren… sports, school events, graduations, weddings, great-grandchildren and on and on. So stop being bitter and learn to get along for your family that you created. I’m sorry you can’t accept your dad’s wife. I’m sure you’d breathe easier if you both sat down and calmly talked about what you want from each other. She knows she’s not your mom. No one can replace your mom. But I’m sure she just wants to get along. She wants you to know you can talk to her. After all, she was once your age too. And sometimes it could be easier to talk to her instead of your mom, because she won’t judge you. It’s worth a try.
