My heart goes out to all those who lost children and their heroic teachers in this heinous attack! My prayers are for our Lord to wrap these people with his loving spirit. Give them strength Lord God. Given them answers they seek and bring the cowards to justice, who stood by as children were massacred! What they did was obvious! It is on video for all of us to see. What is not clear, is why! Were they not supposedly trained police officers and a SWAT team? They are so brave blasting down the door on a home, but stood by as that shooter killed in a school without challenge! Y’all can’t cover this up! We know what you did (or didn’t do) and no number of whitewashed reports are going to assuage our opinions to accept their actions that day! To those involved; It’s time to man up and face the consequences of your actions! Get some stones and do it now! My loving thoughts to all of the Uvalde community from your neighbors in Spicewood, TX.

It would take all of those cowards to hold me back, and then they would have to shoot me. Let me tell you something: I run too what people run away from. And I would be packing. God bless God's little children. Proverbs 6:17-19 says, “These six things the Lord hates, yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren.

what a waste of this city’s money. 2years later and it’s becoming crystal clear that even a negative report (like DOJ’s) wouldn’t have likely resulted in any “mandatory” actions. bc If both of these outside investigations don’t have aplacable consequences to justify the time spent stalling actionable consequences before now… then what the hell are we doing with this community’s hearts, minds, funds, time, and trust?? you don’t need a guy who isn’t willing to look beyond his hat brim to be the deciding factor for these officers when he’s not even willing to receive feedback from the crowd he’s too scared to look at or speak to once that decision making power has been delivered and wielded. This entire aftermath is so disgraceful I just can’t comprehend how this community can be split on the subject? I don’t live there and even I have immeasurable shame for our nation. The ACTUAL TRAGEDY of those poor lives is just another victim to the attention the coverup has stolen. Those lives matter. If you can’t decide who’s fault it will be to say whos fault it was, then at least don’t squander city money pretending to care it was ever about the children.

what’s with all the dramatic page-flipping pauses to answer the questions regarding each officer’s fate? if every single officer was indeed already determined to have “acted in good faith” across the board …. It seemed awfully performative to imply finding the correct page in that notebook would result in individualized answers. Further proving this point, he flawlessly recited specifics about each officer and their positive contributions from heart *without the aid of the notebook.

Active school shooter, has the policy of get in there and stop the threat at all costs. It's standard across the US once the Colorado police failed at Columbine high school. They also have the policy of being respectful 100% of the time to everyone. Was their conduct on that day respectful? They bragged on their own Facebook page's how they got the funding and bought newer safety equipment to handle the weaponry used that day. They bragged on Facebook about their so awesome well funded and trained SWAT team. They bragged on their public government run Facebook page on how just day's prior to the massacre they held Active school shooter drills at the local high school and were prepared for such an event. The DOJ came out with their own report way before this one talking about all their failures and broken policies and procedures. The Federal government knows better with way more highly qualified and educated people who's job it is to break all this down. But a retried cop says no issue's. Come on really? You're gonna buy that garbage?

Training? Maybe, but that’s not the root cause. Lacked equipment? Not the case. They had semi-automatic pistols, semi/automatic assault rifles w/optics, bullet proof vests, Kevlar helmets, and rifle rated ballistic shields. Even then, all of that was not needed to confront and stop the carnage. So what was actually lacking? Courage, a sense of duty, leadership and accountability. Training should be an ongoing practice in any profession. But no amount of training and “equipment” will fix cowardice, lack of moral compass and integrity. A mother with no training, bullet proof vest, or any tactical equipment fought her way into that school, “without permission,” to save her kids and others, even after the police pulled her back and harassed her. She had courage and risked her life without hesitation to save her kids. Those officers waited and waited and waited. Hoping that someone else would come in and do the job they signed up for. To hide behind outdated policies, lack of training and equipment is a weak argument and cop out. If training is the issue , perhaps she should train those officers. Not Adequately protected? This implies that effective actions were taken or existing measures were in place to protect innocent lives but could be improved upon. This was not the case. The facts on the outcome cannot be argued. This was a complete and utter failure. Mayor, have some respect for the families and victims and stop sugar coating and hiding behind politically correct language. Just say it like it is and do right by these families. Stop victim blaming and wasting $100,000 for an independent investigators report to prove innocence of the police department. Try this: “… the bottom line is that we failed you and your families as your elected officials. The Uvalde Police Department failed you and your families. We will all be held accountable for our actions and inactions including, criminal and civil. We are responsible. You deserve better and there is nothing that we can say or do to bring your loved ones back. We are truly sorry for failing you and your families.” Apologies, thoughts and prayers , resigning, re-assigning, transferring, and firing is not enough.
