Former Blues player, broadcaster Kelly Chase talks with Frank Cusumano about leukemia diagnosis

Former St. Louis Blues right wing Kelly Chase amassed over 2,000 penalty minutes in his NHL career. He was protecting his teammates-now those teammates and many others are coming to his aid. Chase was diagnosed with leukemia in November, and like he always did while playing hockey, he's fighting it.

My son and I attended The Gretzky Fantasy hockey camp in Las Vegas for his 30th birthday 13 years ago. I was privileged to sit on the bus going to the games my son played with the 80’s and 90’s greats!! Chaser was one of them. I tell stories of his strength, humor, and outlook on life to this day. You were not only an inspiration to my son, but to myself as well. You got this. Just like you went to the toughest spots on the ice, I know you’ll go to the toughest spots of your heart, mind, and soul, and beat the s..t out of this!
