I tried Akali jungle once. It didn't actually go too badly. Cleared pretty well and snowballed from mostly counter jungling and killing the enemy jungler. Couldn't gank unless allies had CC though. Although granted this video was before her mini-rework. Her new passive healing her for a quarter of her health every 8 seconds is what makes it plausible.
