Personally, I think she probably DID feel (at least) a moment of resentment having one of her Life's "Glory Moments" upstaged . . . But she handled it intelligently & maturely. (Probably knowing that getting mad would reflect poorly on her, so - no point.) Also, I imagine that feeling passed by pretty fast. After all, in hindsight, it IS pretty funny. And the dog IS pretty adorable. Plus, it's just a "dumb animal' following its instincts. "Everyone else runs? I run!" So it is best to just enjoy the absurdity!

I'm sure there at tons of students, parents, teachers and others that have suggested it. My fear is that if the dog does get on the track with the kids, it might accidentally trip one of them up and get both a kid and the dog hurt. That doesn't mean the dog couldn't be a mascot. I think it should!! It would mean though, that they need to be very careful about letting the dog run with anyone.

Yeah this would have been top news if I was in charge of news broadcasting bc it’s better than all the negativity and death they throw out at us non stop daily. So many stories don’t make the news, good and bad, and the bad always out weighs the good and they pick and choose what stories to tell. So why not show the good more often? Bc bad brings worry and fear so therefore it brings in more views. And fear leads to control so I guess the real question would be why show any good news when fear is how they gain control. And I’m not even into sports lol

@@conniee. Never heard that saying, but clearly it makes sense. We should collectively stop entertaining the bad as the viewers, but the thing is it’s just not that easy, especially when it’s stuff that’s happening close to home. Many stories from my town never make the news, so that just means more towns are in that same position as far as things not making it to the news. So I guess it’s safe to say that there’s most likely more to choose from in the negative stack than it is the good stuff, sadly enough. 😞

The best stage is one that appears real. The owner could have intentionally let the dog loose and then later acted like it was an accident. After all, the owner was well aware of the dog’s behavior and perhaps wanted to see what the dog could do in a meet.

Yeah, bi-pedalism has its advantages… And disadvantages.. Most animals have gone through dramatic changes through evolution, but bi-pedalism is still relatively new.. We got a ways to go, yet..
@lordgarion514

Humans are the world leaders in distance running. It's the fast running that we have a problem with. Usain Bolt's fastest speed was about 28MPH, and a housecat has a listed top speed of about 30MPH. But the fact remains that a human, that lives a running lifestyle, can chase down literally every wild animal on the planet. There's a few dogs that we bred that can beat us, and a properly trained, fed, and ridden horse can also beat us. We probably won't ever be masters of both distance and speed.
@lordgarion514
@lordgarion514 28 күн бұрын
@@jacobjones5269 A better way of saying it is that we don't have a long way to go, we went in a different direction. Stamina instead of short bursts of speed.

@jacobjones5269 28 күн бұрын
@@lordgarion514 Slightly different mechanisms, I think?.. You’re certainly correct, but that has a lot more to do with sweat glands and being mostly hairless, as opposed to bi-pedalism.. It’s all connected, though, sure..
@lordgarion514
@lordgarion514 27 күн бұрын
@@jacobjones5269 Not a different mechanism. Everything is different. To get to an extreme takes a LOT more than just leg muscles that go fast. Go look up a video of how a cheetah is able to run so fast. Their shoulder blades are completely disconnected from the rest of their skeleton. And that's not the only thing they had to evolve in order to go so fast. There is no single mechanism that allows speed or endurance. Humans went with endurance. And our entire bodies are built for it. Lack of hair and sweat glands allow us to stay cooler. Having hands allows us to eat and drink while running. Our pelvis is much more evolved for being upright, including running, compared to anything else that can walk on 2 legs. There's a LOT of differences.

Dogs never cease to amaze with their humanness. Brings back a memory of once I was jogging with my dog. It was in an old field and the puppy was just bored watching me run slow. I would finish with a sprint and he raced me to the finish, which was a part of a fence. I would hurdle the fence and he went around it. This time I looked over to see if I beat him and it was a dead heat. And I tripped up because I lost focus. I tumbled and skidded and got lacerations and bruises. My dog was there, yelping and licking at my wounds.

@@judithrandall4690- Words like adjectives do not always follow narrow literal definitions; in the UK for example, "brilliant" is often used as the colloquial equivalent of "awesome". Besides, the dictionary also has it meaning "bright" & thus it could equally apply to bright & happy things (& moments, ppl, places, etc), the way it describes light itself.
