@@TheMetalDetective1, “not doing anything?” Sir, I have been in the government for 29 years. The last four years while working at home have been the longest business days of my career. In fact, I worked more hours than I’ve worked in my career in fiscal year 2024. The amount of hours that I put in, I hope to never have to work that many hours ever again. By the way, many of those hours were free to the government, and therefore free to you, the taxpayer. I received no overtime pay for all of those hours. I received not one dime for all of those hours worked. I welcome a return to the office where I am only working eight hours per day instead of 15 to 18 hours per day, and that is no exaggeration. It is not an Executive Order, it is a Memorandum. It says Remote work, but that is not the same as Telework. It also provides for exceptions. Another poster on KZbin wrote this: "Telework and Remote work are not the same thing and the terms are not interchangeable. Telework is covered under Chapter 65 of Title 5 USC while the term "remote work" is not in 5 USC. If the memorandum was meant to end telework and remote work it would have just said telework and remote are terminated. Basically this really doesn't change anything since the head of an agency can exempt remote workers. This was a smart political move that would make it appear to the POTUS's base that he ended telework when in fact this memo is for remote workers that can be exempted by their agency to continue to remote work. A remote worker's official duty station is their alternative worksite while a teleworker's official duty station is their main office, and therefore, they are already working in-person, so there is no need for them to return to the office because they are already there. On the other hand, a remote worker does not report to their home office at least two times per pay period, and this action may require a change in locality pay if they work outside of the locality area. In other words, they are not working in-person The bottom line is this memo does not applicable to telework as many or mistakenly reporting because it is highly unlikely they would have made this oversight."

There has to be an absolute trail of exactly what happened and exactly what was said and to whom. This woman constantly gets raises and bonuses. She is rare. But they always made less money than If they worked in the private sector. That changed and all of a sudden those lowly motivated, maybe not so talented were being paid more than in the private sector. That led in my opinion to going along to get along, looking the other way to allow law breaking and egos about their talent that was wrong just because of the money. Go to work on the government to get experience and then go into the private sector and we have the best of both worlds. A much better system. Learn procedure, process and implementation in the government and then take that with creativity and drive into the public sector where you earn what you are really worth.
