Today we have a pioneer in local Hawaii radio broadcasting. He is the former morning radio personality on Hawaiian 105 KINE, and former program director and morning show on KCCN FM 100. He is currently the weekend weather anchor and entertainment reporter for Hawai'i New Now. He's also the Game Day Activities Coordinator for all of UH Athletics. He's hosted big events in Hawai'i such as the Merrie Monarch, the Na Hoku Hanohano Awards, and the Miss Hawai'i Scholarship Pageant. Please welcome, the host of Billy V Live, and professional emcee, Billy V!
We talk about how Bill got started in radio broadcasting, emceeing for the Rainbow Classic collegiate basketball tournament in 1999, memories of the Birthday Bash, how he became part of the Hawai'i News Now sunrise team, emceeing big events such as the Merrie Monarch, his commencement speech to Mid Pacific Institute, and much more. This was one of my favorite episodes to record, and I was truly honored to be able to talk story with THE Billy V!
