Hello there ! Just suggesting a potential project for you : Try to make an unbreakable rover that you could use on Mun/Minmus; Here's why : the main problem of Mun and Minmus is that you can't use a rover at high speeds because if you do, you'll tip over at every turn (because of the low gravity) and break your rover. There are two ways to solve that : 1) Don't go fast 2) Make a rover that doesn't break when you stiffly hit the ground after tipping over because of a failed turn or a failed jump. I managed to build such a model myself and i could reach approximatively 55m/s on the Mun with it (without rockets attached to it, just with the wheels of the rover). I'd love to see what you could come up with (with KSP vanilla of course :p).

I feel bad for you in the snow situation. I live in a place that gets 190 inches of snow on average each winter. We don't use salt on the roads either because it's generally too cold for it to work well, and the stuff that works in the super cold weather is stuff you don't want running off into lakes. Sand at intersections for some extra traction only. Otherwise the roads are permanently snow covered about 5 months out of the year. It can snow a foot overnight and everyone drives like nothing happened. You don't really see any more accidents than in the summer either. Combination of learned skill, snow tires, and the occasional 4 wheel drive.

What about landing on an incline with your wheels facing towards the upward slope? That way you have a lower angular momentum before your wheels have to hit the ground. Even a steep incline, like the side of a crater, would have made for an easier landing. Let your wheels roll you down the slope, pulsing the brakes for speed control, and then come to a stop. Boom, landed more easily.

I know the feeling regarding the snow. I live in Belgium and if a centimeter of snow falls here the entire country succumbs to national anarchy. For example: last week there was some snowfall predicted, 4 maybe 5 cm's. They actually urged companies to let people work from home if possible and to use public transport as much as possible. We ended up cancelling several meetings "just in case" Our biggest airport was experiencing DELAYS for a few centimeters of snow... Can you imagine? On the other hand it was super quiet on the road because everyone else was sitting at home rocking back and forth in their survival shelter with their provisions to survice the winter.

As I play more and am trying my own builds I do see many things that I wish KSP had. So now I'm a bit excited to see what KSP 2 will include. Besides at a high level, traveling to new star systems, will they add more at the lower end, parts to make bringing down equipment like rovers (a more sane size than yours, lol) easier?

Ahahaha, a fellow Janner. And Plymouth's weather is just the jankiest. I was always told it's cuz we have the gulf stream one side warming us up, and Dartmoor on the other side just being... moorish. So yeah, everyone gives up doing things in the snow, and it's just indicitive of the spirit of Plymouth. And it really says something that from when the video went up, watching it now... and I know exactly the snow occasion your talking about. xD

Beautiful rover. Those haul truck sized wheels always repelled me with their stress tolerance of a regular rover wheel. One wants to put them on large vehicles but they can't handle the weight or have clipping issues... this one defect made me install modded wheels.

The name is precious. You called the rover "Big Boi".
