I got one after trying the Tiger, F800GS, V-Strom (big and liitle) and the 1190S. It is as good on road as any of them, and it will go offroad anywhere you'd take the others. The deal-breaker was it was $4,000 cheaper than the 1190S. It is a great compromise bike and a shame there's not more of them on the road in Australia.

If you are like me an average weight rider (75kg) and KTM's engineers did a good job, there won't be a need to adjust the suspension. I am happy with mine, an with those 2000 Euros I saved compared to the 1190 (and more money in insurance fees!) I can buy a LOT of fuel! ;-)

Nice review. Had a bit of a chuckle with the australian pronunciation of "ride by wire" :)

Nice review ! I am considering this bike and the BMW F800 GS. But I am not sure if this bike would be as good as the 800 GS off-road ? If I were to put some 50/50 road/ off-road tires on this bike, would it be capable off-road ?

No adjustment on the front whatsoever puts me off straight away. How expensive would it be to change the forks/springs? cheers.
