We continue our KTM 125SX Motor Rebuild. Part 2 we install the Stator, flywheel, shift mechanism, kickstarter, and clutch assembly. We are getting close to having the power plant dialed in and ready to stick in the frame!!

Thanks for the heads up brother! I actually run a Mac, and when this happened my video card crapped out. Ended up finally getting rid of the old MacBook and got a M1 Pro. Love it!

I was actually going to replace the video card, but by the time I paid for it, my computer wasn’t worth it. I was outside of that seven year update period anyways.

Man these are great videos, I have a 01 ktm 200 and your motor looks exactly like mine. I've looked for videos on my motor and can't really find good quality vids, so thanks for taking the time and going into detail on tearing down and putting back together these engines

To loosen fasteners with Red Loctite use a heat gun to heat the fastener and the Loctite will release with enough heat. A heat gun does the job, you do not need a torch.

Right you are sir, and I do avoid torches and use a heat gun whenever necessary. That being said, the reason I avoid red is this, I’ve never had anything come loose using blue, and everything comes out Easily. I’ve never had anything come loose using red, but have had multiple struggles with red, heat or not, releasing. I’ve stripped countless threads, had gummed up threads, and overall a bad experience with red. Red is meant for permanent applications, as it reads on the packaging, therefore I am just using it as advertised and based off my experience. It’s kinda like the oil talk lol I’ll always recommend blue over red, any day of the week. I’m glad you made this comment because it allows me to clear up that I’m not against red, just I don’t personally use it. Thanks David, and please reach out if I can help my friend! Take care!

There are torque specs to the primary gear nut and clutch basket. Both are supposed to be torqued to 130nm/95 ft lb so i hope you see this before putting everything together

Heck ya! I figured it was probably a bit more than the 45 I did, but think it will be fine where I have it. My YZ450F is 43 on clutch and 53 on primary, so I figured all is well. Thanks for pointing that out my friend!!!

I have been having major computer issues with editing and exporting, hence the long wait times. I’m almost worked through the issues and should be kicking them out faster. I have 4 videos ready to edit lol craziness!!! Thanks dude!

I got the stator cover off Rocky Mountain ATV MC website. They discontinued the magnesium covers and when with the poly ones. It was very inexpensive too!!!

Almost exactly the same. I think they had a few minor changes to the clutch and head.

I have a manual that goes from 99 to 2006, what year is your bike, happy to look those up.

04! And I think it’s like 100ft lbs on that also, but the difference is not enough to change the sealing effect on the crank I’m sure. Let me know! Thanks!

@@DanMX2112 primary gear nut is 180 Nm (133 ft.lbs), inner clutch hub nut is 120Nm (88 ft.lbs). There is also a chart for other bolts that do not otherwise have a torque spec. M6 10 Nm M8 25 Nm M10 45 Nm

@@DanMX2112 May want to use the EBC tool to go to 88 ft.lb. I just broke my new inner clutch basket with the tusk clutch holder right at the torque wrench clicked 88 ft.lbs. The ebc tool has many points of contact

That’s part of the reason I was hesitant on torque. Idk why KTM needs it so tight, I personally feel it’s very much overkill. Sorry to hear you smashed it up.
