Nearing 27,000 miles my 1290 GT failed it's MOT this April, the reason was "Excessive Fluctuation of Brake Effort", which basically translates as warped discs. Fitting new front brake discs or 'Rotors' on the KTM 1290 is easy and saved me over £300 by doing it myself. I didn't notice any issues when riding or braking but it was probably time to replace the discs and of course renew the brake pads at the same time. The main tool required for removing the discs is a T40 Torx, the tool spec and torque settings for calliper and brake removal are all in the video. In the video I show a 'Super Fast' clip of removing the front brake calliper and front wheel but you will find the full Front Wheel Removal video here... • KTM 1290 - FRONT WHEEL...
And the full FRONT PADS CHANGE + CALIPER CLEAN video here... • KTM 1290 - FRONT PADS ...
Thanks for looking, I hope this video helps you save some money. I love any general feedback, questions or comments. Thank You to all my subscribers.
