thank you for you comments. I am actually asking myself if I should go for the 2022 r model or find a 2018 or 2019 model. I tried a 2017 model and really like it, I felt immediately comfy. Now, I noticed the heat from the engine and I know this is a particular problem on this bike. What is you opinion about heat and 2022 model ( I haven't tried it yet? Thanks

Mate, I have a 2019, SAR. I love this bike, I added air intake filters, Touratech panniers, KTM skid plate, heated grips, up shifter. I am waiting for the Touratech Zumo XT lockable mount and 1/2" crossbar mount for the handlebar clamp. I am riding the KTM Rally in Quebec Canada in June, looking forward to seeing how well I and the bike perform. The only real annoyance for me is the shitty GPS mounting options for off road use.

Brian left out that he has to put that Cal Sci windscreen in the low position in order to get under some interstate bridges.

I bought a KTM top box with the back pad { although not the same one you did } and the KTM power sports two up seat. My wife said the back pad was ok but she still doesn't like the seat. She says it's too hard and is uncomfortable after about 15 minutes. I like it although it limits how much you can slide back on the seat although with all the power from engine it's not always a bad thing.

Yea seems you can only do so much to get them comfortable from the passenger standpoint. I got the power parts heated seat and curious to see if there is much of a difference. As long as I'm not doing all day street rides I was fine with the stock seat, but those long street days I could definitely feel the hard seat.

Brian, sell those Hard side bags on EBAY. and get the Lone Rider Semi Rigid side bags, best on the market. I have a pair and love them. You can find other brands at a lower cost. How ever Lone Rider has many features the others don't . Keep the Hard top box or get a pelican box for extra security. Merry Christmas to you and your Family. Hope I can Join you again on the ADV WWW

Merry Christmas to you and your family as well. I'll definitely look into those. I wish I did my research a little more before diving in but like the idea of selling the side cases and getting something else.

Great review Brian! I currently have a 890 Adventure R and I have experienced some of the same issues (wind protection, seat comfort, bar height, pegs, etc). Looking forward to many more adventures in 2022. BTW, great seeing you and your wife at the party the other day.

Great review! I understand your issue with the wind protection. I went with the Givi airflow, it is adjustable and the extension can easily be removed on hot days or for off-road. It took me a while to figure out my issue and most of it ended up being my helmet. My new helmet is much quieter.

I like the idea of one that is removable. That is the biggest negative of my aftermarket one is switching back and forth based on the ride and not being able to have both if I'm traveling

I have my first year under my belt with this bike too. I know I asked you a few questions to see if yours sounded or acted the same. It really is a great bike and a blast to ride.

Nice review Brian. I've been wanting a KTM Adventure S for a long time, but the expense is not in the cards for now. However, I did just pick up an 05 FJR and really enjoy it. :-) Looking forward to the next vids. Happy Holidays from Ohio

Happy Holidays! Yea the price definitely makes it tough but you can't go wrong with the FJR, it eats up the road miles. I just have a tendency to find as much off-road as possible when riding lol Congrats on the FJR!
