KTM 1290 Super adventure s, spare key, will it start you bike?

I'm sure it says how to use the spare key in the manual, but hey who reads those 🤣 #ktm #motovlog #bike

Thanx mate 👍🏻 I was sooooo stressed thinking I'd lost my main key 🔑! Just as I'd given up hope, it turned up in the most random stupid place, but hey, who cares as long as it's back, learned something new to lol

You can’t even do a vid about your bike without someone bringing up Archie n his garms what are they like Stan . I also notice Archie is constantly horny even poor ted is looking over his shoulder. Oh well we still love our dogs no matter what they do

I’ve just tried the spare key on my 1290 (2017 gen 1) and the chip is definitely embedded into to the key, not the plastic sheath. Perhaps a new key has been cut in the past, and the chip cut out of the original key? Curious!

It's deff the original key, I even took the key off and tried them both separately, odly my key won't go all the way inside the holder, dies yours? If it does, maybe someone has wedged the chip in it for some reason 🤔 oh mines a late 2018 still the same model I'm pretty sure.

Thanks for the video I just tried my spare for the first time too... In mine it's definitely in the key itself and not in the holder. My key was hard to insert into the holder too, but I flipped it over (don't know if it was necessary) and pushed a little harder, it clicked in all the way.

wow. have you ever had any issues with your bike. Kind of have my eye on a leftover 2018 super adventure S. I know they put a weak battery those bikes which cause all kinds of faults

To be fair, iv not had any problems whatsoever with it, just od how my spare key holder works on the sensor

@thestanleysadventures8229 😆 🤣 😂 😹 😆 yeah that was weird. From what I understand the weak battery they put in has 220cca. While what the bike really likes is 320cca. Still up in the air about buying it. I'm coming off of a kawi zx 14r. This bike would suit me well

@milesdavis8665 Iv done a video on why I bought mine if ud like to watch it? Iv had nothing but superbikes ( 2 R1s, zx10r, 2 blades ect) and wanted a bike that gives me the fiz lol but still be comfortable, this is that bike.

@thestanleysadventures8229 I don't blame you at all lol 😆 😂. I watched that video to. Being that I live about 12 hours from any dealer. I need something that's reliable. Ktm, bmw and yamaha come to mind. My heart says ktm but my mind says yamaha super 10. Or split the difference and go with the bmw for ease of maintenance.

@milesdavis8665 My mates got a GS1250 😴 says it all lol, comfy as f..k but if you like performance, deff NO. Multi strata has the same performance but is scary thirsty, Iv raced KTM moto X and enduros gor many years and been faultless as long as you keep on top of them with servicing and don't treat them like s..t they won't let you down mate, obviously just my honest opinion, coming from superbikes it's the only one for me.
