The adventure bike market has gone bonkers recently. Bikes like the KTM 1290 Super Adventure S are offering unbelievable sporting trekkers, so we took one to a trackday to see how many fast group riders we could upset...

I remember hearing about this on the last lockdown show. The bike setup bit was hysterical. Statham was clearly having so much fun here and it was fun to watch. If you’d had panniers on that would’ve been icing on a hilarious cake. This was so funny, thanks guys.

Al, you’re a bloody legend for not just suggesting this but actually doing it. Okay your honed riding skills (not from BSB but BBB track events 😆) put the boys with their toys to shame! Maybe rather than wasting their money on slicks, tyre warmers and trick parts they should invest in a KTM confectionary dispenser. Thanks again 44Teeth for feeding us with this real world content 😎

Probably gonna be a whole bunch of "Ducatistas" with all the carbon body, titanium bits n carbon wheels. I've noticed that 99% of the folks who show off n brag about all the weight saving bits n aero on their bikes r the worst on track. They also happen to be the ones that rely more on the electronics saving them than honing one's own skill. There's gonna be a random dude on a raggity old S RAD with bits hanging/fallen off who's gonna come in, put out some mental laptimes n go home.

Its so much fun doing this. I used to do the same at Brands Hatch on a Honda Firestorm. Passed many an R1 and Ducati ridden by guys who couldn’t get anywhere near their bikes limit, plus a few who went clean past it and buried themselves in kitty litter. If you pass someone on a fast bike it’s the bike that gets the credit, but pass them on a slow one and it’s all you!

Love me some track days, however, not when it’s wet. Track surface is so unpredictable when wet. Even when I raced competitively I would either skip wet races, or just piddle around the track to obtain a few points and a slightly better grid spot for the next race. Love doing the same on my 20 year old Aprilia as the look on the faces of the guys you pass is priceless!
