Have a Gen1 Superdude and even at low speeds good to go just have to adjust to bikes foibles.What a machine best I've ever had and at 72 that's plenty.

I have a 19 SDGT purchased new in early 20. Had a few MTC lights, but since then, not a single problem. Average mpg of 50, excellent sport touring motorcycle.

I have a GT and it makes me smile every time I ride it . Power, handling, brakes… and yes, it’s quirky but if you care about that then the GT is not for you

Have a 2017 … oh that engine! Torque to get you from A to B in the speed of thought. BTW no trouble at all with it. It loves to wheelie around town so don’t get a ticket!

KTMs are one of the best looking bikes imo. The build quality just turns me off, especially electronics.

It's actually good electronics just low threshold levels for reporting an error, I can imagine not all dealers are at the same debugging level though.

Electronics are the same as those mounted on the bikes in the same range, ie Bosch. Then, alarm can be triggered easily, and will occur if your battery voltage is low, noticeably. Build quality is overall excellent on today's KTM (in the 1290 range at least).

in the mirrors of the Duke, yes. But the RS is an excellent bike. Really great for what it has been designed, and fast enough according to my demo ride. Wind protection could be better, and the rear brake will trigger the ABS very soon. It is also not as light as you could expect in tight turns, and for me, for now, it misses on some tech refinements as adaptative cruise control and lean sensitive lighting. But really enjoyable, and offers a superb ride. Soooo comfy... It should have been in this test.

From what I have seen and heard be prepared to be at the dealers more than on the road with KTM electrical faults and issues with the bike dropping into safe mode max speed 20mph!!

@@apraem.gatuteo.3449 Me too - None of my KTMs have given any real trouble that didnt ultimately turn out to be user error - Any issues almost always from low battery charge and/or pushing the starter button before the ignition has completed start-up And this guy clearly has no idea, as max speed from "Limp Home Mode" on a Gen 3 SDR is actually 155kph ;-) Hardly limping!
