pricing for ADV 390 S, X and ADV 250 revealed here in India. Approximately $4200 for ADV 390 S ex-showroom ($5200 on-road) , $3300 for ADV 390 X ex-showroom ($3900 on-road) and $2900 for ADV 250 ex-showroom ($3300 on-road). Here Ex-showroom means price before road tax and insurance and on-road means after road tax and insurance. varies from state to state with around $200 to $500 differences on onroad pricing :). From our perspective KTM nailed the pricing here for what it offers at least on paper so far. waiting for test ride bikes to hit showrooms

Thanks for the quick summary of this bike. I actually think the pricing is pretty fair considering that LED headlight alone adds cost. The electronics and TFT add additional cost too. Like you, I would go with the R platform for the long distance road riding. If the Tuareg 457 wasn't around the corner I would strongly consider this bike. The cost difference between the MT450 and this bike make the new 390 look like a much better bike. Only $500 difference to save nearly 50lbs, better electronics with cruise control and no snatchy throttle. Even with the financial troubles KTM is having I expect the new 390 R will be hard to get our hands on. I expect it will sell well.

I think price is justified because of tubeless spoke wheels , fully adjustable wp suspension , electronic cruise control as standard and updated styling . For me it's the best looking ktm ever made 😅

You also get a fairly larger fuel tank on the adventure R over the enduro R (1.3 gallons/5L extra fuel capacity) which is huge for longer distances! The larger tank would also contribute to the higher weight of the adventure R. I was planning to get the Cf moto 450mt. But I might just wait a tad longer and pay a little extra for a bike more capable off road and 50lbs lighter with similar performance figures. I believe the 450mt would be the better choice for longer distances due to the comfort of the twin. Otherwise the KTM looks like the better pick for almost every other scenario.

It’s still a lot of tech at that price point compared to others in the market, but my head would definitely be turned toward the Enduro.

Hello Andrew, I think a number of folks will look at the two bikes... and choose the Enduro due to price. I mean this crazy fellow went from Washington to South Dakota on a similarly sized, weight, and power bike last year and he did not have a sixth gear! Nobody can argue you need to spend $1500 more! - Frank

The Enduro is a great looking bike, it really pops. I’d probably go with the rally but either one would work. ADV Matt and Frank have really proven the design.

Totally thrilled to see this bike hit showroom floors. It is definitely the bike I think most of us were looking for when we bought our '20-'24 models. Personally, now that I've got my '22 model almost perfectly kitted out, I'll be holding on to her for another couple of years. If KTM had stuck to their plan to build a 490 Adventure, or had announced a year or two in advance that a more dirt-worthy version was coming, I might've waited for it. But after spending easily another couple grand on upgrades to my "22 model, and loving the way it handles both street and trail, there's not much incentive for me to switch horses yet. Hope those who do purchase it LOVE IT, the test rider videos I've seen are certainly awesome.

Considering I paid $5500 for my 23 Crf300L, I don’t think this is overpriced. I also put money down on one and can’t wait to swing a leg over it.

This compares more to the CRF300L Rally. That bike is $6200. You then need to spend another $1k to get the suspension to spec. Given the ride modes, optional quick sifter and cruise control, traction control, lean sensitive ABS - the new 390 is appropriately priced.

Hopefully! I do wonder how many they can produce and ship to North America that soon. With the lineuo split between so many models, (Adventure, Adventure R, Adventure X, Enduro R, and SMRC R) I wonder how many Adventure R will be available at launch. - Frank

Well keep in mind that the price in The Netherlands is €8660,- (VAT, delivery/shipping cotst included), that's around $9097,- ! And that is without the cruise control.

@@OneOldManRiding I'd imagine a press launch with slightly better weather is on their radar.. but regardless of that, with all the chaos in KTM-land right now I can see things being pushed back a tiny bit too from what they planned for the launch.. my dealer said their rep told them 'april/may' for potential deliveries... (USA, FL)

30,000 miles is Amazing, and you didn’t baby the bike. Honestly the rally price is not that bad if you look at the years of joy it will bring. KTM did make a great looking machine with a proven track record. March is around the corner, congratulations Frank.

Hello David, honestly, if the Enduro did not exists at 5500, the 7000 would seem like a better deal. When you look at the MANY versions of the new 390, SMRC, Enduro, Duke, RC, X and Adventure R, only the Adventure R is not a crazy deal. That along with the VERY nice CFMoto at 6500, it just seems to be $500 higher than a "great deal." I have many complaints, and sub losses from this opinion, (Video) so it may just be me! - Frank

The '24 Duke engine is stellar, however in the ADV-R, it should have been pumped up to at least a 490.

Hello Lean, Bajaj used the same basic engine from 125-399. Allowing them to serve the specific license markets. Folks from Europe have posted that it's pushing a line of power to weight, which makes it sound like they cannot gain anymore HP without adding weight. Considering that a Rade Garage tower costs over 1500.00 it may not be as bad as it sounds. Gonna be interesting to see all of them side by side to figure it out. Looking forward to it!

Hello Bob, yeah, I'd you were thinking full tower, tank and CC your not svaibg money going Enduro. I think we will see a surprising number of Enduro sales. The price is so low foe what you get, and unless you need long distance, it's going to work just as well as the Adventure, and possibly better offroad without the tower/windshield in your way. I will be keeping my 22 390.With the upgrades I have done I hardly think the 21 18 wheel set and 1 more inch of ground clearance will make that much of a difference. I will keep on the current platform or start looking deeply at a ibex450. Nice review and input.

I believe the price is on point. The existing 390 ADV itself competes fairly with the likes of RE 450 and the CF 450. However, the newer model is going to be a ripper. I think its going to take on everything in the sub 500cc range. And i'm not even talking about the electronics on this thing... The new ADV offers an all round performance. It will be able to tour comfortably whilst absolutely killing it off road (without snapping in half). And for the rest, you have the Enduro and the SMC.

I was also thinking about the enduro-R. If you don't care about cruise control and the windscreen (which probably will be shitty anyway), slapping a bigger fuel tank and a small windshield - just to protect your navigation - on the enduro, will get you a cheaper and lighter bike.

Nice video, Frank. I am a little disappointed at the price point… But it's pretty much in line with the MSRP of the current 390 Adventure sitting on dealership floors. That being said there are a lot of $4000390 adventures in the used market with very very few miles on them. At this price point, I think that it would behoove people to purchase the current version not necessarily the new version.

Hello LCARS, I am certainly down on the price. Third party companies can add CC for $400, making a profit. Bajaj can certainly add CC for a few hundred bucks of materials. (CFMoto has CC on bikes selling for under $5K in some markets, it's not an expensive component.) Aside from that, I am very impressed with the bike. Though I do feel the India S version makes more sense. It's seat height is certainly kroe in-line with the existing 390, CFMoto and Royal Enfield. - Frank

I think $1500 extra for the adventure version is more than fair. My last bike was a DRZ400 that I turned into an adventure bike, and I spent way more than that on upgrades. The new 390 Adv looks like unicorn city to me!

I've only ridden and purchased Japanese bikes, '21 Africa twin adventure sport, CRF250L rally, '19 CB500X & just added a '24 Kawasaki Z500... I missed the 250 rally because it was so nimble and easy to ride just did not have enough balls on the 🛣️... Africa twin was expensive as FUCK & big & hella cumbersome... The CB500X for me is The Sweet spot it's not really a good off-road bike maybe just to go down dirt roads & light adventures. If u need off road that's where the KTM comes in handy or the CRF 250-300 rally... That KTM is probably MUCH better after they've been making it a few year's. 👍 MSRP on my Z500 was $5,699 I got it otd in Phoenix, AZ for $6,100 🔥🤠🇺🇸👌 congrats on your incoming 🏍️💨 that's gonna be a blast! U getting the Enduro R or adventure R??

@@OneOldManRiding I was thinking the same thing; Acerbis or IMS. All things considering tank would run $250-400 and they would sell a boatload of them. I have no use for CC or Bluetooth gismos on this kind of bike, and as you said KTM windshields are crap, so why spend money on it?

In my mind anything with an R in it, will always have a premium on it. Is there any info on if an S version is coming, and how that will compare to the RE and CF-Moto?

Hello Dewey, there is indeed an S or standard version. It's coming to India soon, and rumored to be coming to the Europe. It's essentially the R with a 17" wheel and lower suspension. Seat height dropped a little over 1.5". IMHO that's a bike that should be released worldwide. - Frank

I noticed that the Enduro R shock is only preload adjustable. Does the Adventure R offer better suspension (i,e, fully adjustable front/rear)? Might make the price more excusable.

The only reason why I wouldn’t consider this is that I’ve had a 390 ADV, and I’m not a fan of the engine! To me it’s the Achilles heel of this bike.

I have a 2023 390ADV and am looking at this with some interest, but it is worth it?? My main concern is the low exhaust on these bikes. What happens when you hit the wet and puddled mud or a water crossing??

@packfan1946 I had the same thoughts, then realized that if the bike is running, no water will enter the exhaust. And if you stall, and even tip over, it seems like the water will drain out very easily compared to having a high muffler that would drain the water back to the engine as soon as you lifted the bike.

I don't think the price is that bad. Although after the dealer gets done with you it'll be over 9,000. I'm looking at a barely used DR650 with 3000 miles for $5,300 decisions decisions. But I have to admit that is one good looking motorcycle. I wonder how much more torque it added by stroking it

Although I lean towards the Enduro model (with some mods), I think the Enduro is marketed towards the CRF300, whereas Adventure R is towards CF Moto and Royal Enfield. The Aventure R looks very good and at a reasonable price - personally I would do without the cost of a cruise control.

Hello Rob, no need to be sorry! It's just an opinion. I replied to another person along these lines: If not for how much of a bargain all the other 390 bikes were, this would seem like a much better deal! KTM went so low on the other bikes, that this one stands out. And there is no way to ignore the only other bike in this segment: The CFMoto 450. It's not a bad price, it's just not amazing, when all the other 390s are compared to their competition. In my opinion of course! - Frank

I don’t think this was ever meant to be a Kove 450. I think it’s a more prosumer focused “rally” bike. It’s obviously capable given the promo video. I think it hits the mark.

From Canada here. That equals to $10,300 Canadian dollars. I own a 2023 390 Adv, paid $7900 CAD new and love it although I am not sure I will pay that much considering I take my 390 mostly everywhere now.

Dual sport vs adv different markets. My real only concern is build quality from Bajaj . I was not happy with the cheap fastners/metal used in the previous 390 adv

Thanks i am a subscriber and a ling time rider but non KTM rider. I ride Japanese midd or small cc travel bikes but I am ready to buy a bike with plush suspension for my old sore back.Im in good shape but been riding since 1976 so i can get more days in the saddle with sophisticated suspension i reckon. Ill be riding logging roads in BC mostly I wont be riding like the 390-R advertisment haha Would you be able to explain the difference between the Apex and Xplor suspension? I am wondering if the Himmy 450/CF450 and 390-R could be compared suspension wise? It seems like the suspension is a major difference between these bikes and my time riding a buddies KTM i was impressed to say the least. Snatchy throttles and suspension and engine service intervals and engine output style seems to be the deciding factors to me. We are spoiled by a few great choices right now

My KLR go 300 miles. 5he dike is insane. Kawasaki have been building since 1987. I look at i put a nice graphics kit. Ktm offer's junk right now. Be careful 😊

Hello Motocamp, the release price was $6199 here. And while MSRP went up, the dealer I placed my deposit has a brand new one for $5799. The 390 Adventure SW does have an MSRP of 7599, but unlike a new bike, it well under than in most markets I imagine. - Frank

You think this isn't worth $500 more than the CF moto? I think the Cruise control alone is worth that difference.

I'm sorry but $500 more than a competitor's bike is like $5 more.... it's not going to stop you from buying the bike you want. There's no way this could have only been $500 more than the Enduro, half that $$ is the cruise control other half is the bigger gas tank. could it have been $6500? Yes and with KTMs history of selling below MSRP I bet after the first batch fly out the door at full price, that's what they'll sell at at everyone will understand that it is worth that over the Enduro. if the Enduro came in at $5999 nobody would be surprised at the Adv coming in at $6999.

Hello Snow, I agree, $500 will not stop you from buying the bike you want. But for folks cross shopping small ADV bikes, not invested in any of the brands, price is going to be a factor. I think this price will spur more Enduro sales though, as opposed to CFMoto sales. Thank you for stopping by and commenting! - Frank

There's two sides of the coin (literally) for the price: Tails: Enduro R with the same suspension, motor, much of the sensors is $5500, - what justifies this $1500 increase?! Kind of a joke, right?! Heads: Previous 2024 Adventure was $7600 and the Ibex behemoth is $6500 - the new R is way better and looks like a great deal! Furthermore its odd they price the X at $5800 and then justify the increase to $7000 for the R by the "better suspension" which is the same suspension on the Enduro R. They are talking out both sides of the mouth. I just think there's been a history of price gouging in the ADV segment (look at the previous adventure), and agree it will sell like hotcakes even at $7k.

Hello, when first announced, KTM said fall for North America, when KTM officially announced the bike, without a date, they told dealers March. Still no official date! - Frank

Price seems good to me. If you want cheaper and don't mind a less premium product then that's what the others are for. KTM has never been that and should never try and fit into that category.

Here in India we are even more confused , many small advs are being made or will be made here and price is almost 40-45% less than overseas . Himalayan 450 , triumph scrambler 400x , all ktm 390 range , Aprilia tuareg 457 , bmw f450gm , hero 421 xpulse , tvs f450 counterpart 😂😂😂

Hello, market pricing varies greatly. I was in Florida a few yeraa ago, taking a cruise, which went to Mexico. Being a 390 owner, I looked up the price of a 390 in Mexico at the time, it was $2500 lower than Florida. Quite a deal! I know many guys are already talking about the Aprillia 457. I have not looked at all, is it going to be produced in India. India is THE place for lightweight ADV manufacturing! Thank you for stopping by and commenting! - Frank
