I just bought exc 525 with smr 560 head and cylinder and it is so fast and powerful. Guy that sold it to me put it in dyno and it makes 62hp. It is street legal so i can ride it on road with supermoto wheels.

If i remember right, this year 520sx has a heavier flywheel. In 04 or 05, the flywheel used was alot lighter, thus making the 450/525 sx straight up animal to ride in any technical or slow terrain. You've got a good one there. I never cared for the 4 speed trans on the sx models. If you find a 6 speed from an exc/mxc, its well worth swapping out. Love the old rfs 450/525s, smooth and super torquey, and damn near bulletproof (as long as you dont rev the shit outta them constantly-they make so much power down low you dont need too)

Yeah I love it so far, the only thing that sucks is the 4 speed, but I've been looking into swapping it out. It's definitely a good bike for someone that wants some good power but doesn't want to pay new bike prices.

Also the late 05 to 07 models have a lighter frame and swing arm. I have a 2004 450 exc for enduro and 2006 525 exc for supermoto :D great bikes! 500 hours on my 450 and only changed top end for a hi comp piston at 250 hours for peace of mind, not a single problem with either bikes in my ownership

Mine has the factory installed E start too, even though its really so easy to kick start. Is the front fender broken on yours?

Nice, E start would be awesome. The front fender is decent, it does look a little messed up in the video though.
